The crimes against Muslim communities should be raised and studied since there is a striking increase in anti-Muslim hate crimes in all around the world. Especially, in the last years, globally, the terrorism has become a huge problem in many countries. Moreover, there are many other global issues, such as the debates going on about the European Union or wars. In England and Wales, the process of leaving the European Union, which is called as Brexit, plays a significant role in people's opinion on Islam and Muslim. Furthermore, in England, some terrorist attacks happened in London and Manchester, recently. France also has been through a difficult period regarding the terrorist acts in the past years. It will not be a surprise, if it affects the people's opinions about Muslim communities, because of the press and media institutions which commonly define that terrorists are mostly belong to the religion of Islam. Also, they represent the Muslim communities as the“scapegoats”, and Muslims started to be exposed to harassments and attacks in their daily lives. The aim of this paper is to show the current situation in France and England and Wales regarding anti-Muslim hate crimes.
