The“examined”study“considers”international“students'”experience“of”deep“ breathing”exercise“for”a“stress”management“approach.”Based“on”the“previous”literature“review”it“has”been“known”that“overseas”students'“stress”levels“are”high“ due”to“being”unaccustomed“to”the“new”academic“system”of“host”country,“and”due“to”acculturative“problems”(Ye,“2006).”Being“distant”from“the”traditional“social”support“was”another“important”stressor“for”international“students”(Poyrazali“et”al.,“ 2004).”Therefore,“stress”management“approaches”have“been”searched“for”decades“to”reduce“students'”excessive“stress.”In“this”research,“a”simple“ breathing”exercise“was”given“to”the“participants”to“practice”it“for”two“weeks.”According“to”the“literature”review,“it”has“been”argued“that”deep“breathing”exercise“is”successful“on”decreasing“international”students'“academic”and“social”stress“(Paul”et“al.,”2017).“In”relation“to”the“prior”studies,“research”questions“of”this“study”were:“a)”What“stress”means“for”participants?“b)”Do“overseas”students“ feel”that experiencing“deep”breathing“exercise”is“helpful”for“dealing”with“stress?”c)“If”it“is”helpful“how”or“if”it“is”not“what”are“the”difficulties?“Semi` structured interviews”were“conducted”with“Turkish”overseas“students”(n=5)“studying”in“ London”and“transcribed”afterwards.“Thematic”Analysis“discovered”5“main”themes“ (meaning”of“stressb”experiencing“breathing”exerciseb“benefits”of“breathingb”differences“from”other“approaches)”with“each”several“sub`themes.”Results“ showed”that,“breathing”exercise“was”helpful“for”students“and”decreased“their”stress“levels.”Investigated“qualitative”research“examined”breathing“exercise's”beneficial“outcomes”by“focusing”the“experiences”of“participants.”Defined“ limitations”of“the”study“will”enable“future”studies“to”be“more”appropriate.“ Moreoverb”further“recommendations”for“practice”and“research”has“been”also" mentioned.
