Özet
Ekonomik büyüme bir ülkenin kişi başına düşen gelir seviyesindeki artışı ifade ederken, kalkınma kavramı ekonomik, siyasi ve toplumsal gelişmeyi belirtir. Orta gelir tuzağında, ülkeler ekonomik gelişmelerinde yaşanan tıkanıklıklar sonucu belli bir gelir ve kalkınmışlık seviyesinin ötesine geçememektedirler. Orta Gelir Tuzağından ülkelerin çıkmasında en kritik rol eğitim seviyesinde yaşanacak ilerlemelerdir. Mesleki ve teknik eğitim, ekonomik üretime katkısı en doğrudan olan ve kısa dönemde sonuç veren eğitim türüdür. Gelişmiş ülkelerin eğitim sistemleri incelendiğinde mesleki eğitim alanında önemli ilerlemeler kaydettikleri ve bu durumun üretim kapasitelerinde süreklilik arz eden bir artış sağladığı görülmektedir. Ülkemizde ise uygulanan mesleki ve teknik eğitim sisteminin bazı sorunları bulunmakla beraber bu sorunların çözümü halinde büyüme ve kalkınmaya önemli katkılar sağlaması mümkündür.

While economic growth refers to the increase in the income per capita of a country, the concept of development refers to economic, political and social development. In the middle income trap, countries cannot go beyond certain income and development level as a result of the bottlenecks in their economic development. The most critical role in the escape of countries from the middle income trap is the advances in education level. Vocational and technical education is the type of education that has the most direct contribution to economic production and gives results in the short term. When the education systems of developed countries are analyzed, it is seen that they have made significant progress in the field of vocational education, and this has provided continuous increase in their production capacities. Although the vocational and technical education system, implemented in our country, has some problems, it is possible to make significant contributions to growth and development if these problems are solved.
