The strain energy values are cumulated and plotted against the final consolidation stress level on semi-logarithmic plot as shown in Figure 6. The predicted results from this new method give better correlation coefficient and are more successful than conventional Tavenas method. xxu

Table 1. The Preparation Type of All Test Groups. The graphical method proposed by Casagrande is widely used for the determination method of pre-consolidation pressure in practice. Methods suggested by Schmertmann and Butterfield are also preferable.
