Özet
Hicri birinci asrın sonu ile ikinci asrın başlarında yaşayan Cehm b. Safvân'ın gündeme getirdiği görüşler tarihte çokça tartışılmış ve eleştirilmiştir. Dinî metinlere akılcı yaklaşımın öncüsü olarak kabul edilen ve bu yönüyle dinî metinlerin aklın ilkeleri doğrultusunda te'vil edilmesi gerektiğini savunarak Ashabu'l-Hadis'in eleştirilerinin odağı olmuştur. Siyasal ve toplumsal alanda İslâm toplumunu etkileyen halku'l-Kur'an tartışmalarını ilk defa dile getiren kişi olduğu iddia edilen Cehm'in görüşleri farklı din ve kültürlerle ilişkilendirilmiştir. Cehm, Allah'ın somut bir formda anlaşılmasına sebep olan teşbih ve tecsim düşüncesine karşı tenzih prensibini savunmuştur. Tarihte adına nispetle anılan Cehmiyye fırkası birçok fırkayı ve kişiyi itibardan düşürmek ve marjinalleştirmek için bir araç olarak kullanılmıştır. Cehmiyye fırkasına karşı yazılan ilk reddiyelerin büyük bir kısmı Mu'tezileyi hedef almışsa da tarihsel süreçte Cehmiyye nitelemesinin kapsamı genişletilmiştir. Kur'an'ın yaratılmış olduğunu savunan, Allah'ın sıfatlarını te'vil eden ya da nefyeden ve farklı geleneklere mensup birçok isim Cehmîlîk nitelemesiyle itham edilmiştir. Cehm'in, dile getirdiği düşüncelerin birçok fırkayı ve kişiyi olumlu veya olumsuz farklı yönlerden etkilemesi, bütün eleştiri ve ithamlara rağmen, İslâm düşünce tarihinin en önemli şahsiyetlerinden birisi olduğunu göstermektedir.

Jahm b. Safwan who lived at the end of the first century and the beginning of the second Hijri century, by his views that brought to the agenda have been widely discussed and criticized in history. He has been accepted as the pioneer of the rational approach to religious texts which is arguing that religious texts should be interpreted in line with the principles of reason and the focus of criticism of Ashabu'l-Hadith. The views of Jahm, who is claimed to be the first person to voice the discussions on the halq-al Quran that affect the Islamic society in the political and social field, have been associated with different religions and cultures. Jahm defended the principle of tanzih against the idea of tashbih and tajsim, which causes Allah to be understood in a concrete form. The Jahhmiyya sect, which has been mentioned with its name in history, has been used as an apparatus to discredit and marginalize many sects and individuals. Although most of the first refutations written against the Jahmiyya sect targeted the Mu'tezile, the scope of the Jahmiyya characterization has been expanded in the historical process. Many names who defend that the Qur'an was created, who interpret or denied the attributes of Allah who belong to different traditions all have been accused of being Jahmist. Despite all criticism and accusations, the fact that Jahm's thoughts affected many sects and people in different ways, positive or negative, shows that he is one of the most important figures in the history of Islamic thought.
