Özet
Bu çalışmada ortaokul öğrencilerinin okumaya karşı güdülenme görünümlerinin belirlenmesi, elde edilen verilerin ebeveynlerin eğitim düzeyi ve okuma kültürleri bağlamında değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. İnceleme ilişkisel tarama modelinde desenlenmiştir ve sormaca tekniği kullanılmıştır. İncelemenin çalışma grubunu Denizli ilinde bir ortaokulda öğrenim gören 335 ortaokul 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Verilerinin elde edilmesinde Wigfield ve Guthrie (1997) tarafından geliştirilen Durmuş (2014) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan“Okuma Motivasyonu Anketi / Motivations for Reading Questionnaire (MRQ)”madde sınırlaması yapılmış hâli ve araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Sormaca 34 maddeden oluşmaktadır, sormacada yer alan sorulara verilen yanıtlar beşli likert yöntemine uygun oluşturulmuştur. Toplanan verilerin analizinde SPSS programı kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler incelendiğinde ortaokul öğrencilerinin okumaya karşı güdülenme düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ortaokul öğrencilerinin okuma güdülenmelerinde ise ebeveynlerin eğitim düzeylerinin ve okuma kültürlerinin etkili olduğu, bazı alt boyutlarda anlamlı farklılar olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The purpose of this study is to determine the motivational views of secondary school students towards reading and to evaluate the data obtained in the context of the parents' educational levels and reading cultures. The study has been designed in relational survey model. A questionnaire technique has been used in the survey. The study group of the survey consists of 335 students registered in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades in a secondary school in Denizli Province. In order to obtain research data,“Motivations for Reading Questionnaire (MRQ)”that was developed by Wilfred and Guthrie (1997) and was adapted into Turkish by Durmuş (2014) has been used in an option-limited form together with a personal information form that has been prepared by the researcher. The questionnaire consists of 34 items. The answers given to the questions in the questionnaire have been formed in accordance with the five-point Likert method. SPSS program has been used in the analysis of the collected data. When the data obtained are examined, it is seen that the motivation of secondary school students towards reading is high, and it is also observed that the education levels and reading cultures of their parents have an effect on their motivation.
