In the literature, online video game addiction under the name of behavioral addictions is becoming more and more serious. States, especially South Korea and China, have started to take serious measures against game addictions and even opened hospitals and organized military camps. In recent years, serious research has been conducted on behavioral addictions. This study examined the relationship between online video game addiction and depression levels among adolescents. The sample of the study consists of 158 adolescents (47 females, 101 males) attending high school in the 2018- 2019 academic year. In this study, Socio-Demographic Form developed by the researcher was used as a data collection tool. Besides, Game Addiction Scale for Adolescents was used to measure online video game addiction levels of adolescents. Also, the Beck Depression Inventory was used to measure depression levels of adolescents. As a result of the study, there was no significant relationship between online video game addiction and depression, while there was a significant relationship between online video game addiction and academic performance. Also, game addiction scores of the male were higher than females. The scores of the students using the internet for 4 hours or more daily were higher than the scores obtained from the beck depression inventory for the students who used the internet for 1-3 hours daily. As the families' income levels of the students increase, the scores they get from the beck depression inventory decrease. With its findings, this study can make an important contribution to the online video game addiction literature during adolescence.
