This part of the main thesis aims to illustrate a psychological perspective to explain the experience of“Non-Dualism”or so-called“Awakening”experiences. The first section focused on clinical approaches towards the experience of“Awakening”in case of NeoAdvaita by providing a“Model of Depersonalization Experience”. The second section focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of Humanistic Psychology towards the experience of Non-Dualism by touching upon the“Rehumanization”of Science, the concept of“SelfActualization”and practices of“Mindfulness.”Mystical Experiences, most specifically, the experiences of“Awakening”or“NonDualism”have been researched from different perspectives in academia; however, especially the psychological, neurological and biological perspectives still need more research for several reasons. One of the reasons is that it is difficult to define some terms such as mystical experience, non-dualism, meditation, mindfulness and alteration of consciousness. Another reason is the logistical problem of finding participants who have mystical, non-dualistic or similar types of, experiences. Besides, choosing or combining the most suitable methods to use in research can be a challenge. Moreover, one might need to adopt an interdisciplinary approach by combining different disciplines such as history, anthropology, clinical and social psychology and neurology. To combine these different disciplines can be a challenge since all of these fields take a great amount of time to research just one mystical tradition. For these reasons, for my first section, I decided to focus on the tradition of Neo-Advaita and“Immediatism.”The methods for delivering the teachings are mostly books and videos which were convenient to analyze since they use simple and sometimes psychological language.
