This thesis will examine how children's books and comics became a widely used tool for propaganda in WWI and has subsequently evolve and continues to be used throughout the world as a tool for indoctrination. Using children's books as a tool for propaganda was not limited to governments, but was also used by different political movements, religious institutions, non-governmental organizations and even individuals. The same techniques are being used today by various interest groups in today's conflicts. The thesis will attempt to examine this 100-year evolution by citing many examples from around the world.
