In the history of the development of business, management has been thought of as a key factor in success. However, nowadays, non-profit organizations have become more functional with constantly growing in importance and enlarging their sphere of influence both in Turkey and the world. Management as a component of the organisation is used by non-profit organisations as much as the business organisations. As a result of these, sustainable and accurate management which is one of the most strategic elements of the business sector, have also become important for the non-profit organizations. Besides, throughout the history, volunteerism has been keeping importance for the non-profit organisation. In addition, management of volunteers is one of the keys of the success for the non-profit organisations throughout the world. For these reasons, management style of a non-profit organisation which includes volunteer management investigated, how it impacts on overall activity analysed and managerial issues on volunteerism examined in this dissertation. There is some research about the volunteer management. For example Hager and Brudney on behalf of the Urban Institute (2004). They explored the relationship between organizational characteristics, and the retention of volunteers in their study. Also, Yelda Erdogan (2014) identified the place of volunteer management in the management structure of nongovernmental organisations in her thesis. But, there is a gap about the volunteer management and its impacts on overall business in the scope of Turkey. In this project, it was tried to find out managerial issues on volunteerism in a non-profit organisation scope of Turkey as well as was defined the influences of the management style of non-profit organisation. Thus, it might be occasion for better management structure which is more profitable, sustainable and convenient management style to manage volunteers in Turkey. 3 It needed to undertake a primary research which involves quantitative research. This research included a questionnaire separately to 22 participants who are volunteers in non-profit organisations and managers of non-profit organisations from Turkey. Further, this project aimed to examine the managerial issues and its influences on volunteers and voluntary operations of the non-profit organisation.
