The Temettuat Books are among the of top priority resources for the social and economic history of Ottoman Empire in the 19th century. The Temettuat Books, which were composed by the consequences of the enumerations carried out in the most parts of Balkans and Anatolia, are formed by keeping the yearly taxes, incomes and estates of the householder. In this investigation, the social and economic structure of Zistovi, a Balkans city in the Empire, in the light of the Temettuat Books are analysed. In terms of social structure, Zistovi's population, the distribution of religious and form of settlement are emphasized. Examining the economic sectors in the economic pattern, the level of economic welfare through the variety of data are worked to determine and finally income-tax relationship are emphasized. Considering the data obtained, it is seen that Zistovi has some difference the nature of the Ottoman city more generally
