Özet

Geometri kazanımları Öğretim Programı'nın tüm sınıf seviyelerinde yer almaktadır. Geometride Temel Kavramlar alt öğrenme alanında yer alan“açı”kavramı öğrencilere ilköğretimin üçüncü sınıfından itibaren,“düzlem”kavramı ise dördüncü sınıftan itibaren verilmektedir. Öğrencilerin“açı”ve“düzlem”konularında edindikleri hata ve yanılgılar, ilerleyen yıllardaki geometri bilgilerini doğrudan etkileyecek niteliktedir. Bu nedenle yapılan bu çalışmada ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin“açı”ve“düzlem”konularındaki hatalarını ve varsa kavram yanılgılarını tespit etmek ve elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda önerilerde bulunmak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2018-2019 öğretim yılında İstanbul ilinde yer alan beş ilköğretim okulunun 4. sınıf kademesinde okuyan toplam 196 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin“açı”ve“düzlem”konularındaki kavram yanılgılarını belirlemek için araştırmacı tarafından altı adet açık uçlu sorunun yer aldığı veri toplama aracı hazırlanmış ve uygulanmıştır. Çalışma betimsel model kullanılarak yürütülmüş ve elde edilen bulguların analizinde nitel yöntemden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda ilköğretim 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin“açı”ve“düzlem”konularında yaptıkları yanlışlıklar, hatalar ve kavram yanılgıları belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda kavram yanılgılarının giderilmesi konusunda bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Geometry outcomes are included in all grade levels of the Curriculum. The concept of“angle”in the Basic Concepts in Geometry sublearning field is given to the students from the third grade of primary Education, and the concept of“plane”is given from the fourth grade. The mistakes and misconceptions of the students in the subjects of“angle”and“plane”will directly affect their knowledge of geometry in the following years. For this reason, in this study, it was aimed to determine the mistakes and misconceptions, if any, of the 4th grade primary school students about the subjects of“angle”and“plane”and to make suggestions in line with the findings. The sample of the research consists of a total of 196 students studying at the 4th grade of five primary schools in Istanbul in the 2018-2019 academic year. In the research, a data collection tool including six open-ended questions was prepared and applied by the researcher to determine the misconceptions of primary school 4th grade students about“angle”and“plane”. The study was carried out using a descriptive model and the qualitative method was used in the analtsis of the findings. As a result of the research, mistakes an misconceptions made by primary school 4th grade students about“angle”and“plane”were determined. In line with the results obtained, some suggestions were made to eliminate the misconceptions.
