Hazelnuts, which is the most important export product, makes an important contribution to the country's economy and the agricultural employment in Turkey. The aims of this study are to determine the willingness of conventional hazelnuts farmers to convert to organic hazelnuts production and to determine factors affecting their conversion to organic production. The main material of the research constitutes of the data obtained from surveys conducted face to face with 120 hazelnuts producers in Giresun, Samsun and Ordu province where the hazelnuts production is intensive. Descriptive statistics, parametric and non-parametric tests and logistic regression analysis were used to analyse the data. According to the research findings, the land of average hazelnuts production is 2.62 hectares, and farmers allocate 84.36% of their farmland to hazelnuts production. While the average hazelnuts yield is 1255.40 kg/ha, hazelnuts sale price is $2.59. In addition, 94.17% of the hazelnuts farmers sell their products to the wholesaler. In converting to organic farming, the most effective economic factor is that organic farming is more profitable, the most effective environmental and physical factor is that climate conditions are suitable for organic hazelnuts production and the most effective political factor is that organisation of hazelnuts producers encourages production. It is found that the farmers want to convert to organic farming within 3.07 years. According to the logistic regression model, a higher number of households and land size, less number of people working in agriculture from each household, less agricultural production experience, older, lower education levels all positively affect the willingness to convert to organic agriculture positively. In addition, farmers who have tools and equipment for organic production, as well as those who participate in a positive statement about organic farming are more likely to convert to organic farming. The research results will make significant contributions to decision makers, hazelnuts producers and researchers in this field
