Özet
Bu çalışmanın konusu rasyonel seçim teorisi'dir. Çalışmanın amacı rasyonel seçim teorisinin sosyolojideki hangi yaklaşım ve teorilerle bağlantılı olduğunu ortaya çıkarabilmektir. Çalışmanın hipotezi şu şekilde belirlenmiştir Rasyonel seçim teorisi aksiyonel yaklaşım altında geliştirilen aktör merkezli teoriler ile bağlantılıdır. Bir başka deyişle rasyonel seçim teorisinin rasyonalite teorileri ile değil aktör merkezli teoriler ile bağlantılı olduğu iddia edilmektedir. Hipotezin sınanmasına yönelik veriler, rasyonel seçim teorisinin mimarı olarak kabul edilen Jon Elster'in, hipotez doğrultusunda belirlenen beş kitabı, Karl Marx'a Giriş(1986), Ekşi Üzümler(rasyonalitenin altversiyonu çalışmaları)(1987), Solomonik Yargılar(rasyonalitenin sınırlılıkları çal ışmaları)( 1990), Civata ve Civata Somunları (sosyal bilimler için)(1989a), Toplumun Çimentosu( 1989b), temel alınarak elde edilmiştir. Elster'in görüşleri, aynı konuya dair bu beş kitabındaki düşüncelerinin bir sentezi, teorik bir bütünü olarak verilmiştir. Bu sebeple kitaplar birebir tercüme edilmemiş, anlayarak yorumlama sürecine tabi tutulmuştur. Aktör merkezli teorilerin eyleme dair belirledikleri öznellik, durum tanımı, diğerlerini dikkate alarak eylemde bulunma şeklinde ifade edilen üç temel sosyal eylem karakteristiği doğrultusunda hipotez sınanmıştır. Sınama sonucunda rasyonel seçim teorisinin bu üç karakteristik temelinde aktör merkezli teoriler ile bağlantılı olduğu ortaya çıkmış ve rasyonel eylemin sosyal bir eylem olduğu tesbit edilmiştir. 262

The subject of this study is rational choice theory. It's purpose is to emerge that which approaches and theories in sociology are relating to rational choice theory. The hypothesis of this study is that: Rational choice theory is related to actor oriented theories which are developed under actional approaches. In other words it is argued that rational choice theory is not relating to rationality theories but is relating to actor oriented theories. To examine this hypothesis, five books are chosen, which are related to hypothesis, of John Elster who is accepted the architect of rational choice theory. Especially, Elste^s ideas in this topic, in his five books( An Introduction to Karl Marx(1986), Sour Grapes: studies in the subversion of rationality(1987), Nuts and Bolts : for the social sciences (1989a), The Cement of Society (1989b), Solomonic Judgements (1990)), are given like a synthesis. For this reason, his books are not directly translated, in contrast, are treated by understanding and interpretation. Hypothesis has stated on the base of three social action characteristics which are defined by actor oriented theories: subjectiveness, definition of situation, acting regarding the others. As a conclusion the rational choice theory is relating to actor oriented theories. Rational action is a social action and it has three main social action characteristics. 263
