Özet

Bu araştırma işletmelerde staj yapan çocuk gelişimi ve eğitimi alanı öğrencilerinin çocuk sevme düzeyleri ile empatik eğilimlerini incelemek amacı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini, 2020-2021 eğitim-öğretim yılında Şanlıurfa ili Eyyübiye, Haliliye ve Karaköprü ilçelerinde bulunan Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Liseleri ile Çok Programlı Anadolu Liselerinin çocuk gelişimi ve eğitimi alanına devam eden ve bağımsız anaokulları ile ilkokul ve ortaokulların bünyesinde bulunan anasınıflarında staj yapan son sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmuştur. Üç ilçede bulunan toplam 250 öğrencinin tamamı araştırmaya katılım sağladığından çalışma evreni aynı zamanda araştırmanın örneklemi olarak alınmıştır. Nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama yöntemi kullanılan araştırmada, veri toplama aracı olarak“Kişisel Bilgi Formu”, Barnett ve Sinisi (1990) tarafından geliştirilen, Duyan ve Gelbal tarafından (2008) Türkçeye uyarlanan“Barnett Çocuk Sevme Ölçeği”ve Kaya ve Siyez (2010) tarafından geliştirilen“KA-Sİ Çocuk ve Ergenler İçin Empatik Eğilim Ölçeği-Ergen Formu”kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde Barnett Çocuk Sevme Ölçeği ve KA-Sİ Çocuk ve Ergenler İçin Empatik Eğilim Ölçeği- Ergen Formu faktör ve toplam puanlarına ilişkin betimsel istatistikler hesaplanmıştır. Betimsel istatistikler olarak minimum, maksimum, ortalama ve standart sapma değerleri göz önüne alınmıştır. Ölçeklerin demografik değişkenlere göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterip göstermediğini incelemek için non-parametrik testler kullanılmıştır. Farklı iki grubun puanlarının karşılaştırılmasında Mann Whitney U- testi kullanılırken, ikiden fazla farklı grubun karşılaştırılmasında ise Kruskal Wallis H- testi kullanılmıştır. Kruskal Wallis H- testinin anlamlı olduğu durumlarda, hangi gruplar arasında anlamlı farklılığın olduğunu belirlemek için Mann Whitney Utestinden yararlanılmıştır. Barnett Çocuk Sevme Ölçeği ve KA-Sİ Çocuk ve Ergenler İçin Empatik Eğilim Ölçeği arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olup olmadığını incelemek için Sperman Korelasyon katsayısı hesaplanmıştır. Araştırmada işletmelerde staj yapan çocuk gelişimi ve eğitimi alanı öğrencilerinin çocuk sevme düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu; çocuk sevme düzeyinde yaş, kardeş sayısı, doğum sırası, anne öğrenim durumu, baba öğrenim durumu ve aile ekonomik durumu değişkenlerinin anlamlı farklılık yaratmadığı; alanı isteyerek seçme ve staj yapılan okulu sevme durumunun ise çocuk sevme düzeyinde anlamlı bir farklılık yarattığı bulunmuştur. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin empatik eğilimlerinin yüksek olduğu; öğrencilerin empatik eğilimleri yaş, kardeş sayısı, doğum sırası, anne öğrenim durumu ve aile ekonomik durumu değişkenlerine göre anlamlı farklılık yaratmazken baba öğrenim durumu, alanı isteyerek seçme ve staj yapılan okulu sevme değişkenlerinin ise anlamlı bir farklılık yarattığı görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin çocuk sevme düzeyleri ile empatik eğilimleri arasında orta düzeyde pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur.

This research was carried out with the aim of examining the level of liking for children and empathic tendencies of students in the field of child development and education who do internships in enterprises. The universe of the research is consisted of final year students doing internships in the independent kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, which continue in the field of child development and education of the Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education and Multi-Program Anatolian High Schools in the Eyyübiye, Haliliye and Karaköprü districts of Şanlıurfa in the 2020-2021 academic year. Since all 250 students in three districts participated in the research, the study universe is also taken as the sample of the research.In the research, in which the survey method, one of the quantitative researchmethods, was used,“personal information form”was used as data collection tool,“Barnett Child Liking Scale”developed by Barnett and Sinisi (1990) and adapted into Turkish by Duyan and Gelbal (2008), and“KA-SI Empathic Disposition Scale for Children and AdolescentsAdolescent Form”developed by Kaya and Siyez (2010).In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics were calculated regarding the Barnett child liking scale and the KA-SI empathic disposition scale for children and adolescents, and the adolescent form factor and total scores. Minimum maximum mean and standard deviation values were considered as descriptive statistics. Nonparametric tests were used to examine whether the scales showed a significant difference according to demographic variables. While the Mann Whitney U- test was used to compare the scores of two different groups, the Kruskal Wallis H- test was used to compare more than two different groups. In cases where the Kruskal Wallis H test was significant, the Mann Whitney U- test was used to determine between which groups there was a significant difference. The Sperman Correlation coefficient is calculated to examine whether there is a significant relationship between the Barnett Child Liking Scale and the KA-SI Empathic Tendency Scale for Children and Adolescents. In the research, it is found that the child development and education field students who do internship in enterprises have a high level of liking for children. It is found that the variables of age, number of siblings, birth order, mother's education level, father's education level and family economic status do not make a significant difference in the level of liking for children. On the other hand, it is found that the state of choosing the field willingly and liking the school where the internship was made creates a significant difference in the level of liking children. The empathic tendencies of the students participating in the research are high. While the empathic tendencies of the students do not make a significant difference according to the variables of age, number of siblings, birth order, mother's education status and family economic status, it is seen that the variables of father's education level, choosing the field willingly and liking the school where internship make a significant difference. A moderately positive and significant relationship is found between the students' level of liking for children and their empathic tendencies.
