Due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), symptoms such as fever, cough, loss of taste and smell during the acute infection period, and neuropsychiatric symptoms such as headache, brain fog, and cognitive dysfunction in the long term have been observed. Decreases in daily living activities and work performance, which patients attributed to neuropsychiatric symptoms, have been reported. Central auditory processing disorder is the impairment of one or more of the brain's functions in speech recognition and interpretation processes. In order to investigate whether Covid-19 infection has an effect on auditory processing skills in the long term, general cognitive status is within normal limits, hearing normally, equally distributed as gender; 20 patients with a median age of 33(IQR=31.5-35) years and 20 control group individuals with a median age of 26.5 (IQR=26-27) years were included in the study. With this hypothesis, the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale (MoCA), Frequency Pattern Test (FPT) and Duration Pattern Test (DPT) were used, and daily communication status and disease symptoms were questioned. There was no significant difference between the MOCA scores of the groups (p>0.05). The longest lasting symptoms of the patients in the acute period were loss of taste and smell, and the most common symptoms in the prolonged period were headache, joint pain and fatigue. The FPT and DPT right ear rev +, right ear rev -, left ear rev +, left ear rev – scores of the patient group were significantly lower than the control group (p<0.001). In our study, there was no statistically significant difference between the patient and control groups in FPT and DPT right rev and left rev scores (p>0.05). There was no significant difference between FPT and SPT scores of female and male patients (p>0.05). There was no significant relationship between patients FPT and DPT scores and symptoms of loss of smell or taste. Patients with neuropsychiatric symptoms had significantly lower FPT right ear rev - values than those without (p<0.05). It was observed that temporal processing skills were affected after Covid-19.
