Özet
Giriş-Amaç: Periferal intravenöz kateterizasyon; hastanelerde oldukça sık başvurulan ve hemşirelerin klinik ortamda tedavinin ve bakımın gerekliliklerini sağlamak için en sık kullandıkları yöntemdir. İntravenöz yol; sıvı tedavileri, ilaç tedavileri, hemodinamik takip, total parenteral beslenmenin devamlılığı gibi uygulamalarda kullanılır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; hemşirelik öğrencilerine uygulanan periferik venöz kateter ilişkili enfeksiyonların önlenmesine yönelik eğitimin etkinliğini değerlendirmektir. Gereç-Yöntem: Araştırma; ön test- son test tek gruplu tasarımda, yarı deneysel tipte planlanmıştır. Araştırma Türkiye'de bir devlet üniversitesinin hemşirelik bölümünde yürütülmüştür. Veri toplama araçları olarak Öğrenci Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu ve Periferik Venöz Kateter İlişkili Enfeksiyonu Önlemeye Yönelik Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini; hemşirelik bölümü 2. ,3. ve 4. sınıflarda öğrenim gören ve dahil edilme kriterlerini karşılayan 270 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Verilerin analizinde R- Studio paket programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın yürütülmesi için etik kurul onayı ve öğrencilerden bilgilendirilmiş gönüllü onam alınmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan 270 öğrencinin yaş ortalaması 21,18 ± 1,17; medyan yaş değeri ise 21'dir. Üç farklı zamanda bilgi puanlarında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir değişim olmuştur (p0,05). Sonuç: Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin kateter ilişkili enfeksiyonları önlemeye yönelik bilgi puan ortalamalarının eğitim sonrası anlamlı derecede artış gösterdiği saptanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar; verilen eğitimin öğrencilerin bilgi puanlarının zamandan bağımsız bir şekilde yükseldiği ve eğitimin etkin olduğunu göstermektedir.

Introduction-Aim: Peripheral intravenous catheterization; It is the most frequently used method in hospitals and nurses to provide the requirements of treatment and care in a clinical setting. Intravenous route; It is used in applications such as fluid treatments, drug treatments, hemodynamic monitoring, and continuity of total parenteral nutrition. The aim of this study; To evaluate the effectiveness of the education for the prevention of peripheral venous catheter-related infections applied to nursing students. Materials-Methods: Research; pretest-posttest was planned in a single-group design, quasi-experimental type. The research was carried out in the nursing department of a state university in Turkey. Student Descriptive Information Form and Information Form for Preventing Peripheral Venous Catheter Related Infection were used as data collection tools. The sample of the research; nursing department 2. ,3. It consisted of 270 students studying in the 4th and 4th grades and meeting the inclusion criteria. The R-Studio package program was used in the analysis of the data. Ethics committee approval and informed consent were obtained from the students for the conduct of the study. Results: The mean age of the 270 students participating in the study was 21.18 ± 1.17; the median age is 21. There was a statistically significant change in knowledge scores at three different times (p0.05). Conclusion: It was determined that the mean score of knowledge about preventing catheter-related infections of nursing students increased significantly after the training. The results obtained from the research; It shows that the knowledge points of the students in the education given increase independently of time and that the education is effective.
