Özet
Tasarımın en önemli sonucu olan form olgusu, görsel ve işlevsel yükümlülüğünün zaman içerisindeki değişmesi ile şekillenmektedir. Steven Holl mimari formu oluştururken bazı kriterler doğrultusunda şekillendirmektedir. Holl'ün düşüncesinde mimarlık sadece form ile kısıtlı değildir. Formun temelini fikre dayandıran Holl, biçim ve geometriden önce formun fenomenolojik deneyimini ön planda tutmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Holl'ün mekânı algılama fenomenolojisi üzerinden mimariye yaklaşımının ve bu bağlamda yapılarında form ve mekân olgusunun incelenmesi bu tezin ana konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasında amaç; Holl'ün mimari form oluşturmada doğal ışık kullanımına verdiği önemin yanında yapının konumu, mekânda hareketlilik, yapısal gözeneklilik, malzeme etkisi, müzik etkisi, fenomenoloji ve sürdürülebilirlik konularının Holl'ün tasarımları üzerinden incelenmesi ve bu konulardaki yaklaşımını ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Holl'ün mimarlığa yaklaşımı ve mimarlığını ortaya koyma biçimi ile ilgili basılı ve internet kaynakları üzerinden literatür araştırılması yapılmış, konuyla ilgili yazılan kitap, tez çalışmaları, makaleler ve sempozyum bildirileri vasıtasıyla temel bilgi düzeyi oluşturulmuştur. Sonuç olarak, Holl'ün form olgusunun biçimlenmesinde genellikle doğal ışık kullanımına, fenomenolojik etkisine, konumuna, malzeme seçimine ve sürdürülebilir etkisine önem verdiği, bazı yapılarında ise gözeneklilik, mekânda hareketlilik ve müziğin etkisinden de yararlandığı görülmüştür.

The phenomenon of form, which is the most important result of design, is shaped by the change in its visual and functional obligations over time. While creating the architectural form, Steven Holl shapes it according to some criteria. In Holl's thought, architecture is not limited to form only. Holl, who bases the form on the idea, prioritizes the phenomenological experience of form-space before form and geometry. In this study, the examination of Holl's approach to architecture through the phenomenology of perception of space and in this context the phenomenon of form and space in his buildings constitute the main subject of this thesis. The aim of this thesis study; In addition to the importance Holl attaches to the use of natural light in creating architectural form, it is aimed to examine the location of the building, mobility in space, structural porosity, material effect, music effect, phenomenology and sustainability through Holl's designs and to reveal his approach to these issues. Literature was searched on the printed and internet resources about Holl's approach to architecture and the way he presented his architecture, and the basic level of knowledge was established through the books, thesis studies, articles and symposium papers written on the subject. As a result, it has been seen that Holl generally gives importance to the use of natural light, phenomenological effect, location, material selection and sustainable effect in shaping the phenomenon of form, and also benefits from the influence of porosity, mobility in the space and music in some of his structures.
