Özet

Yapılan bu çalışmada ilkokul 4. Sınıf öğrencilerinin Fen Bilimleri dersinde Aydınlatma ve Ses Teknolojileri ünitesinde STEM uygulamalarının akademik başarıya etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yapılan çalışmada ön-son test kontrol gruplu araştırma modelinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmaya Van ilinde bulunan Çaldıran Yavuz Sultan Selim İlkokulunda öğrenim gören 48 öğrenci katılmıştır. Öğrenciler deney grubu (n=24) ve kontrol grubu (n=24) olmak üzere iki eşit gruba ayrılmıştır. Kontrol grubunda yer alan öğrenciler Aydınlatma ve Ses Teknolojileri ünitesini geleneksel öğretim yöntemine uygun işlemiştir. Deney grubundaki öğrenciler ise aynı üniteyi STEM etkinliklerinden yararlanarak yürütmüştür. Çalışmanın başlangıcında ve sonunda her iki gruba da 35 sorudan oluşan başarı testi uygulanmıştır. Grupların ön-son test başarı test puanları arasındaki farklılıkların karşılaştırılmasında SPSS 25.0 programında Paired Samples T Test kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda deney grubunda bulunan öğrencilerin ön test puanları ile kıyaslandığı zaman son test akademik başarı düzeylerinde anlamlı gelişme meydana geldiği tespit edilmiştir (p0.05). In this study, it was aimed to examine the effect of STEM applications on academic success in the Lighting and Sound Technologies unit in the Science course of 4th grade primary school students. The research model with pre-post test control group was used in the study. 48 students who study at Çaldıran Yavuz Sultan Selim Primary School in Van participated in the research. The students were divided into two equal groups as the experimental group (n=24) and the control group (n=24). The students in the control group taught the Lighting and Sound Technologies unit in accordance with the traditional teaching method. The students in the experimental group carried out the same unit by using STEM activities. At the beginning and end of the study, an achievement test which consists of 40 questions was applied to both groups. Paired Samples T Test was used in SPSS 25.0 program to compare the differences between the pre-post test achievement test scores of the groups. At the end of the study, when the pre-test scores of the students in the experimental group were compared, it was determined that there was a significant improvement in the post-test academic achievement levels (p0.05).
