IV ÖZET INTERNET ORTAMINDA JAVA İLE DAGITTK CİHAZ YÖNETİMİ SİSTEMİ - İSTEMCİ BAYRAKTAR, Mehmet Ali Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Uluslararası Bilgisayar Enstitüsü Tez Yöneticisi; Prof. Dr. Turhan Tunalı Ağustos 1998,162 sayfa Bu tezde Internet ortamına doğrudan veya bir aracı ile bağlantısı olan cihazları uzaktan kontrol problemi ele alınmış ve bu problemin çözümü için dağıtık bir yönetim sistemi tasarlanmıştır. Geliştirilen çözümler, bilgisayar ve bilgisayar ağ donanımı kapsamı dışına çıkamamaktadır. Bunun yanısıra, bu çözümler genetikle cihaz tabanlı oldukları için platform bağımlıdırlar. Önerilen sistem ise, endüstriyel ve ev cihazlarını da yönetim problemi kapsamı dahiline almakta ve Sun Microsystems tarafından geliştirilmiş olan Java dilinde uygulandığı için platform bağımsız ve güvenli bir ortam sunmaktadır. Sistem istemci sunucu mimarisinde geliştirilmiş olup istemci, sunucu ve cihaz nesnelerinden meydana gelmektedir. Bütün nesneler, sisteme özel geliştirilen taşıma ve hata toleransı katmanları üzerinden iletişim kurmaktadırlar.

ABSTRACT DISTRIBUTED DEVICE MANAGEMENT OVER INTERNET USING JAVA THE CLTENT BAYRAKTAR, Mehmet Ali M.Sc. in International Computing Institute Supervisor; Prof. Dr. Turhan Tunalı August 1998, 162 pages In this thesis, the remote control problem of devices connected directly or via an agent to the Internet is being handled and a distributed device management system is proposed as a solution. Systems developed for the solution of this problem, included only computers and network equipments and therefore are platform dependant. The system proposed in this thesis, not only includes industrial and home devices, but also uses the Java language developed by Sun Microsystems for a platform independent and a secure environment. The system is developed in a Client-Server architecture and consist of client, server and device objects. The objects communicate with each other over the Transport and Fault-Tolerant Layers which are designed and implemented for this system. As an implementation of the system, the client and the part of the server serving the client are implemented.
