This study explored the relationship between Mental Health Literacy (MHL) and Empathy among university students. The current study, to our knowledge, was the first to examine the correlation between empathy levels and MHL among university students. The main aim of the current study was to examine that relationship while also looking at demographic variables. A sample of 138 males and females were recruited and completed Mental Health Literacy Scale and Multidimensional Emotional Empathy Scale. The results indicated that total empathy score along with the 4 subscales were positively correlated with MHL. The participants who were female had higher empathy and MHL scores than male students. the participants who study on a psychology related course have greater MHL than those who study other courses. As hypothesised, those who were more empathic had greater MHL. The findings and the future implications of the present study were discussed.
