Özet

Bu araştırmada Montessori metodunu uygulayan okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarındaki öğretmenlerin teknoloji kullanımlarına ilişkin görüşlerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklem grubunu 2023 yılında İstanbul ve İzmir ilinde yaşayan, uygun örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen Montessori öğretmenlerinden bireysel görüşme için 26, odak grup görüşmesi için 7 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada öğretmenlerin teknoloji kullanım görüşlerini incelemek üzere nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri“Kişisel Bilgi Formu”ve“Görüşme Formu”ile toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler kayıt altına alınmış ve bu kayıtlar deşifre edilmiştir. Veriler içerik analizi yoluyla değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre Montessori metoduyla eğitim veren erken çocukluk eğitim kurumlarında görev yapmakta olan öğretmenlerin neredeyse tamamı sınıflarında teknolojiyi kullanmaktadırlar. Öğretmenlerin sınıflarında teknolojiyi kullandıkları alanlar farklılık göstermekte olup, öğretmenler teknolojinin çocukların gelişimlerine etkisi konusunda olumlu ve olumsuz görüşler bildirmişlerdir. Öğretmenlerin çoğunluğunun teknoloji ibaresinden sadece ekran kullanımını anladıkları ve teknoloji kullanımın alt boyutları ifade edildiğinde kullanımına karşı olmadıklarını hatta sınıfta buna yer verdiklerini belirttikleri sonucu ortaya çıkmıştır. Öğretmenlerin Montessori metodu ve teknoloji entegrasyonuna yönelik olumlu ve olumsuz düşünceleri bulunmaktadır.

In this study, it is aimed to examine the opinions of teachers in preschool education institutions applying the Montessori method about the use of technology. The sample group of the study consists of 26 teachers for individual interview and 7 teachers for focus group interview from Montessori teachers living in Istanbul and Izmir in 2023 and selected by appropriate sampling method. In the study, a case study from qualitative research designs was used to examine teachers' views on technology use. The data of the study were collected with“Personal Information Form”and“Interview Form”. The obtained data were recorded and these records were deciphered. The data were evaluated through content analysis. According to the results of the research, almost all of the teachers working in early childhood education institutions providing education with the Montessori method use technology in their classrooms. The areas in which teachers use technology in their classrooms vary, and teachers have expressed positive and negative opinions about the impact of technology on children's development. It was concluded that the majority of teachers understood only the use of screens by the phrase technology and stated that they were not against the use of technology when the sub-dimensions of technology use were expressed, and that they even included it in the classroom. Teachers have positive and negative thoughts about Montessori method and technology integration.
