Özet
Amaç: Bu anket çalışması ile 6 -24 (24 ay hariç) ay yaş aralığındaki bebeği olan annelere anne sütünün verilme süresi ve kesilme zamanına etki eden nedenlerin araştırılması planlanmıştır. Bu nedenler ayrıca (IOWA Infant Feeding Attitude Scale-IIFAS) IOWA Bebek Beslenme Tutum Ölçeği ile değerlendirilmiştir. Amacımız anne sütünün zamanından önce kesilmesini etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek, bu konuda farkındalığı arttırmak ve bu vesileyle anne sütünün erken kesilmesini önlemeye katkı sağlamaktır. Gereç ve Yöntem: T. C. Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu SUAM Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları polikliniklerine başvuran düşük doğum ağırlığı ve kronik hastalığı olmayan, zamanında doğmuş, 6-24 (24 ay hariç) ay arası çocuğa sahip, anket çalışmasına katılmayı kabul eden 305 anne çalışmaya alınmıştır. Çalışmaya dahil edilen annelere yüzyüze görüşülerek demografik özellikleri içeren anket uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca anne sütü ile beslenme durumunu saptamak için IOWA Bebek Beslenme Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Demografik anket sonuçları ile IOWA Bebek Beslenme Tutum Ölçeği anket sonuçları karşılaştırılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmamıza katılan 305 annenin %83,0'ü 25-40 yaş arasındaydı. Annelerin muayeneye gelen çocuklarının yaş ortalaması 14,7±4,7 aydı ve %54,8'i erkekti. Çalışmamıza alınan 305 annenin IOWA Bebek Beslenme Tutum Ölçeği ölçek puanı ortalaması 71.7 ± 5,6 (min:48- maks:82) bulundu. Eğitim düzeyi yüksek olan annelerin ve çalışan annelerin ölçek puanları diğerlerine göre istatistiksel olarak yüksek bulundu(p<0,001 ve p:0,016,sırasıyla). IOWA Bebek Beslenme Tutum Ölçeği puanlarıyla anne eğitim düzeyi, doğumdan sonra anne sütü başlanma zamanı, çocuğun sadece anne sütü alma süresi ve ek gıdayla beraber toplam anne sütü alma süresi arasında korelasyon bulundu (r:0,28, p<0,001; r:0,18, p:0,012; r:0,12, p:0,029, sırasıyla). Sonuç: Annelere emzirme ve çocuklarını anne sütüyle besleme konusunda eğitim verilmesi çocukların daha uygun şekilde anne sütüyle beslenmesine katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

Aim: With this questionnaire study, it was planned to investigate the reasons affecting the duration of breastfeeding and the time of discontinuation of breast milk to mothers with infants between the ages of 6-24 (except 24 months) months. These reasons were also evaluated with the IOWA Infant Feeding Attitude Scale(IFAS). Our aim is to determine the factors affecting the premature discontinuation of breast milk, to raise awareness on this issue and thus to contribute to the prevention of premature discontinuation of breast milk. Materials and Methods: A total of 305 mothers who had no low birth weight and no chronic diseases, who were born at term, who had children between 6-24 (except 24 months) months of age and who agreed to participate in the questionnaire study were included in the study. A survey including demographic characteristics was administered to the mothers included in the study through face-to-face interviews. In addition, IIFAS was used to determine the status of breastfeeding. The results of the demographic questionnaire were compared with the results of the IFAS questionnaire. Results: Of the 305 mothers who participated in our study, 83.0% were between 25-40 years of age. The mean age of the children was 14.7±4.7 months and 54.8% of them were male. The mean IFAS scores of 305 mothers was 71.7 ± 5.6 (min:48-max:82).IFAS scores of mothers with higher education levels and working mothers were found to be statistically higher than others (p<0.001 and p:0.016, respectively). A correlation was found between IOWA scores and the mother's education level, the time to start breastfeeding after birth,and the duration of the child's exclusive breastfeeding. (r:0.28, p<0.001; r:0.18). p:0.012; r:0.12, p:0.02901, respectively). Conclusion: It is thought that training mothers on breastfeeding and breastfeeding their children will contribute to more appropriate breastfeeding of children.
