Özet
The thesis studies the newest CO2 reduction regulation that will go into effect in 2023 in the Netherlands from employees' point of view. The thesis attempts to answer the question of what appropriate strategies can be used to align the attitudes of employees to the new CO2 output law. 13 qualitative interviews are undertaken with participants from 9 different industries, using the snowball strategy. The attitudes of the participants regarding this CO2 reduction regulation were broken down into mental state, value/norms and behavioural aspects. Participants had generally a positive attitude with some discrepancies between the company in the domain of behavioural aspects and to some extent the value/norms aspect. Almost all companies engaged in some form with CSR and CO2 reduction, with some lacking unity with their workforce. Recommendations for companies to answer the research question are as follows: composite CO2 reduction plan/strategies on a divisionally level, cheer small successes, Hybrid working, and motivate employees intrinsically. A new conceptual model is proposed based on the findings and analysis.
