Özet

The main objective of this study was to identify the associations between religiosity, gender role attitudes, and marital satisfaction in Turkish general population. In the past, few studies have been done by grouping these variables in pairs, but no study has been found that gathers these three variables under a single roof. The research was conducted only on the 400 Muslim married individuals from Turkiye. The age of participants was between 25-50 years old, on participants who were married for at least one year. Data were collected using the following four instruments via an online survey: A sociodemographic questionnaire, Islamic Religiousness Scale (IRS), the Gender Role Attitudes Scale (GRAS), and Marriage Life Scale (MLS). The Pearson correlation was used to examine the relationships between religiosity, gender role attitudes, and marital satisfaction. The analysis showed that religiosity total scores are negatively correlated with gender role attitudes, and positively correlated with marital satisfaction. Furthermore, linear regression was performed to determine the predictive effect of religiousness on gender role attitudes and marital satisfaction.
