Özet
In this study, we discussed the issue of the Quran exegesis by sunnah, which has an important place in the Quran exegesis. Within this context, we tried to reveal how Tabarı and 'Ibn Atıyyah benefited from sunnah while interpreting the Quran and on what issues they differed or had disagreement. In addition, we tried to mention some of the verses in which the Prophet directly and indirectly interpreted the Quran, in particular the ijtihads and preferences of Tabarı and 'Ibn Atıyyah in the verses that were interpreted indirectly. We tried to emphasize the importance of the interpretation of some verses of the Quran directly and indirectly by the Prophet in terms of exegetics methodology. This study aims to achieve highlighting the status of the Prophet's sunnah in the interpretation of the Qur'an, and the extent of the commentators reliance on it as a source. This research will address the differences and agreement between the two imam's and indicate the two imam's efforts in interpreting the Qur'an in the sunnah.
