COVİD-19 pandemisinde hemşirelik öğrencilerinin el hijyeni davranışlarının değerlendirilmesi

Özet
Bu çalışmada, bir üniversitenin sağlık bilimleri fakültesi, hemşirelik bölümü öğrencilerinin, COVİD-19 pandemisi süresince el hijyeni konusundaki davranışlarında değişiklik olup olmadığının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma, tanımlayıcı-kesitsel tipte bir araştırmadır. Araştırma, Şubat – Mayıs (2023) tarihleri arasında T.C. İstanbul Arel Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi, Hemşirelik Bölümünde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini, T.C. İstanbul Arel Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi, Hemşirelik Bölümünde okuyan 274 öğrenci (1. sınıf: 85 öğrenci, 2. sınıf: 67 öğrenci, 3. sınıf: 56, 4. sınıf: 66) oluşturmaktadır. 274 öğrenciden, α=0,05 düzeyinde %80 güç elde etmek için çalışmaya alınacak örneklem sayısının 160 olarak saptandığı ancak kayıplar göz önüne alındığında bu sayıyı 180 olarak almanın daha uygun olacağı görülmüştür. Kayıplarla beraber çalışma 178 öğrenci ile tamamlanmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri, öğrencilere online ulaşılarak, demografik bilgi formu ve El Hijyeni Uygulama Envanteri (EHUE) ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma verileri nicel analiz yöntemleri ile değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, pandemi öncesi el hijyenine dair envanter değerlerine göre EHUE puanı 63,78±10,78 pandemi sonrası el hijyenine dair envanter değerinde ise EHUE puanı 66,52±7,57'dir. Çalışmada, el hijyenine dair envanter değerlerinde, pandemi öncesi ve pandemi sonrası el hijyenine dair envanter değerleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olduğu saptanmıştır (p <0,05). Pandemi sonrası dönemde, el hijyenine dair envanter değerlerinin ortalaması pandemi öncesine göre artmış ve bu artış istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur.

In this study, it was aimed to determine whether there was a change in the behavior of the students of the faculty of health sciences, nursing department of a university regarding hand hygiene during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study is a descriptive-cross-sectional type of research. The research was carried out between February – May (2023) by T.C. It was held at Istanbul Arel University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. The universe of the research, T.C. It consists of 274 students (1st grade: 85 students, 2nd grade: 67 students, 3rd grade: 56, 4th grade: 66) studying at Istanbul Arel University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. It was seen that the number of samples to be included in the study was 160 out of 274 students in order to obtain 80% power at the α=0.05 level, but considering the losses, it would be more appropriate to take this number as 180. The study with the missing was completed with 178 students. The data of the research were collected by reaching the students online, demographic information form and Hand Hygiene Practice Inventory (EHUE). Research data were evaluated with quantitative analysis methods. As a result of the research, the EHUE score was 63.78±10.78 according to the inventory values of hand hygiene before the pandemic, and the EHUE score was 66.52±7.57 in the inventory value of the post-pandemic hand hygiene. In the study, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the inventory values of hand hygiene and the inventory values of pre-pandemic and post-pandemic hand hygiene (p <0.05). In the post-pandemic period, the average of the hand hygiene inventory values increased compared to the pre-pandemic period, and this increase was statistically significant.
