Özet
Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, erken STEM eğitiminin 60 – 72 aylık çocukların bilimsel süreç becerilerine ve sosyal becerilerine etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmada, nicel araştırma yönteminden deneysel araştırma modeli olan“tek grup ön test-son test, kontrol grupsuz deney deseni”kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evreni, Türkiye genelindeki okul öncesi öğrenim gören öğrenciler, çalışma grubunu ise Bahçeşehir Koleji Etiler Anaokulu 60-72 aylık hazırlık sınıfında öğrenim gören 32 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama sürecinde Bilimsel Süreç Becerileri testi ve Sosyal Becerileri Değerlendirme ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama sürecinde birinci aşama olarak erken STEM eğitimi programına başlamadan önce öğrencilerle 2022 Kasım ayında, ikinci aşama olarak ise erken STEM eğitimi eğitiminin üçüncü projesini bitirdikten sonra Nisan ayında uygulama yapılmıştır. Verilerin analizi için kullanılan ölçme araçları ile toplanan verilerin neticelendirilmesinde SPSS 13.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı kapsamında yanıtları aranan araştırma sorularına yönelik elde edilen bilgiler SPSS programına girilmiş ve elde edilen bilgilerin sonuçları ile ihtiyaç duyulan istatistiksel analizler için Ön test- son test puan karşılaştırmalarında bulunulmuştur. Ön test- son test puan kıyaslamalarında ulaşılan puanlar arasındaki farkın anlamlılığını test etmek için bağımlı gruplarda t-testi (paired samples t-test) uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları incelendiğinde erken STEM eğitimi müfredatının uygulandığı okul öncesi 60-72 aylık öğrencilerin program öncesi ve sonrası uygulanan bilimsel süreç becerileri ölçeğinden aldıkları ortalama puanların arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olarak farklılaştığı bulgularına ulaşılmıştır. Erken STEM eğitimi müfredatının uygulandığı okul öncesi 60-72 aylık çalışma grubunun erken STEM uygulama programı öncesi ve sonrası uygulanan sosyal beceriler ölçeğinden aldıkları ortalama puanların arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olarak farklılaştığı bulgularına ulaşılmıştır.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the early STEM program on the scientific processing skills and social skills of 60-72-month-old children. For this purpose, the“single group pre-test-post-test, experimental design without control group”was used in the research. This is an experimental research model used in the quantitative research method. The scope of the research covers preschool students in Turkey, and the study group consists of 32 students studying in the 60-72 month preparatory class of Bahçeşehir College Etiler Kindergarten. In the data collection process, the Scientific Process Skills test and the Social Skills Assessment scale were used. During the data collection process, the first stage was applied to the students before starting the early STEM education program in November 2022. The second stage was applied in April after completing the third project of the early STEM education program. In the analysis of the data collected, measurement tools for specific data analysis were utilized; The data collected for the sub-objectives whose answers were sought within the framework of the general purpose of the research were entered into the SPSS program and the SPSS 13.0 package program was used for the necessary statistical analyzes on the data. In the pre-test-post-test score comparisons, the t-test (paired samples t-test) was applied to the dependent groups to test the significance of the difference between the scores. According to the results of the research ıt is shown that after the research results were examined, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference in the average scores of 60-72 month old pre-school students to whom the early STEM education curriculum was applied to, from the science process skills scale applied before and after the program. The avarage scores of the 60-72 month old pre-school students whom the early STEM education curriculum was applied to showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the social skills scale applied before and after the early STEM application program findings were reached.
