Özet
Objective: In this study, it was aimed to reveal the relationship between reality shock and medical error attitudes and the influencing factors in newly graduated nurses. Materials and Methods: The research was conducted in a descriptive, relationshipseeking type within the quantitative research design. The study group consists of 300 newly graduated nurses who have a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 24 months working experience. 'Personal Information Form', 'Reality Shock Scale' and 'Attitude Scale in Medical Errors' were used to collect research data. SPSS program was used in the analysis of the collected data. The obtained data were evaluated and interpreted at the level of 95% confidence and .05 significance. Results: In the study, a significant positive relationship was found between the total, relationships and cooperation, professional knowledge, responsibility and performance sub-dimensions of reality shock and the sub-dimensions of medical error total, medical error perception and cause of medical error. In addition, age, working time, working time in the current institution, monthly overtime hours, number of patients cared for daily, willingly working in the institution they work for, training on medical errors, medical errors in their professional lives, medical errors that are not reported to the manager, witnessing a colleague making a medical error, the reason for choosing the profession, the type of shift worked, satisfaction with the profession and the clinic, reality shock and medical error are significant A difference has been detected. Conclusion: In the study, it was concluded that as the totality of reality shock, relationships and cooperation, professional knowledge, responsibility and performance sub-dimension levels increased, the levels of medical error total, medical error perception and cause of medical error increased in newly graduated nurses.
