Özet
Bu tez çalışmasında ilköğretim sosyal bilgiler öğretiminde tarihi dizilerin dersin akademik başarısına etkisinin değerlendirilmesi için yapılmış olup araştırmada deneysel desen modeli ve araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen ön test-son test kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada, öğretim yöntemi olarak filmlerin kullanılmadığı kontrol grubunun başarı ortalamaları ile eğitim materyali olarak sıklıkla filmlerden kesitlerin sunulduğu programla öğretim alan deney grubu arasında anlamlı bir farklılığın var olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Bu gruplardan yapılandırmacı öğrenmeyle birlikte sıklıkla filmlerin kullanıldığı grup;“deney grubu”, diğer grup ise“kontrol grubu”olarak adlandırılmıştır. Araştırma sonrasında elde edilen veriler, deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerin ön test-son test başarı puanları arasındaki farklılıklar analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan araştırma sonucunda uygulanan öğretim yönteminin deney ve kontrol gruplarının son test puanları arasında analiz sonuçlarına göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmasa da deney grubu ve kontrol grubundaki öğretim yöntemlerinin kendi içerisinde ön test ve son test puanlarına ilişkin bağımlı örneklemler t testi sonuçlarına göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmuştur. Bu sonuçlara göre araştırma kapsamında kontrol grubunda uygulanan geleneksel yöntemin öğrencilerin başarıları üzerine etkisinin orta düzeyde olumlu etkisi olduğu, deney grubunda uygulanan yöntemin ise öğrencilerin başarılarına etkisinin yüksek düzeyde olumlu etkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmada ulaşılan sonuçlara göre yine de eğitim materyali olarak sıklıkla filmlerden kesitlerin sunulduğu programla öğretim yönteminin öğrencilerin başarı üzerine olumlu katkısı olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

This thesis study was conducted to evaluate the effect of historical series on the academic success of the course in primary school social studies teaching, and the experimental design model and pretest-posttest developed by the researcher were used in the research. The research was conducted in a primary school in Ordu, Turkey, with 38 participating students in the control group and 49 participating students in the experimental group. In the study, in which the achievement test developed by the researcher was used, the traditional teaching method was applied in the control group, and the teaching method in which sections from movies were frequently presented as educational material was applied in the experimental group for 4 weeks. Among these groups, the group in which clips from movies are frequently used as a teaching method called ''experimental group''; and the other group was called“control group”. The data obtained after the research and the differences between the pre-test and post-test success scores of the students in the experimental and control groups were analyzed. As a result of the research, although there was no statistically significant difference between the post-test scores of the experimental and control groups of the applied teaching method according to the analysis results, a statistically significant difference was found according to the dependent sample test results regarding the pre-test and post-test scores of the teaching methods in the experimental group and control group. According to these results, it was determined that the traditional method applied in the control group within the scope of the research had a moderately positive effect on the students' achievements, while the method applied in the experimental group had a high positive effect on the students' achievements. According to the results obtained in the research, it was concluded that the teaching method with the program, in which sections from movies are frequently presented as educational material, has a positive contribution to the success of the students.
