Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğrenci resimlemeleriyle desteklenen yabancı dil eğitiminin öğrencilerin öğrenme düzeyine ve sanatsal gelişimlerine etkisinin incelenmesidir. Çalışmada ön test-son test, deney ve kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmış olup, nicel ve nitel veriler beraber toplanmıştır. Çalışmanın katılımcıları 2018- 2019 eğitim öğretim yılı, güz döneminde İzmir ili, Kemalpaşa ilçesinde MEB' e bağlı bir ilkokulda öğrenim görmekte olan 40 üçüncü sınıf öğrencisidir. İngilizce dersinde gerçekleştirilen denel işlem 6 hafta sürmüştür. Çalışmada, kelime öğrenimine yönelik başarı testi ve yarı yapılandırılmış öğrenci görüşme formu veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca deney süreci öncesinde ve sonunda öğrenciler tarafından yapılan resimler değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın bulgularına göre, öğrencilerin kendi resimleri ile desteklenen yabancı dil eğitimine dahil olması başarılarını arttırmıştır. Deney grubu ve kontrol grubu son resimleri karşılaştırmasında ise deney grubu öğrencilerinde konu anlatım biçimindeki özgünlüğün kontrol grubu öğrencilerine kıyasla daha fazla sayıda olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca deney grubu öğrencileri, yapılan görüşme sonucunda süreç hakkında olumlu görüşler ifade etmişlerdir. Sonuç olarak, öğrencilerin kendi resimleri ile desteklenen yabancı dil eğitiminin öğrencilerin başarını arttırdığı, öğrencilerin sanatsal gelişimine katkı sağladığı görülmüş ve süreç boyunca sosyalliklerinin ve motivasyonlarının arttığı tespit edilmiştir. Yabancı dil öğretiminde öğrenci resimlemeleri yönteminin kullanılması ve yöntemin etkililiğinin farklı örneklem grupları ile test edilmesi (denenmesi) önerilmektedir.

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of foreign language education supported by student illustrations on students' learning level and students' artistic development. In the study, a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest, experimental and control groups was used, and quantitative and qualitative data were collected together. The participants of the study were 40 third grade students studying in a primary school affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Kemalpaşa district of İzmir province in the autumn term of the 2018-2019 academic year. The experimental process carried out in English lesson lasted for 6 weeks. In the study, achievement test for vocabulary learning and semi-structured student interview form were used as data collection tools. In addition, the drawings made by the students before and at the end of the experimental process were evaluated. According to the findings of the study, students' involvement in foreign language education supported by their own drawings increased their achievement. In the comparison of the final pictures of the experimental group and the control group, it was seen that the experimental group students had more originality in the form of subject expression compared to the control group students. In addition, the experimental group students expressed positive opinions about the process as a result of the interview. As a result, it was seen that foreign language education supported by students' own drawings increased the success of the students, contributed to the artistic development of the students and increased their sociability and motivation during the process. It is recommended to use the student illustrations method in foreign language teaching and to test the effectiveness of the method with different sample groups.
