Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı; ortaokullarda görev yapan müzik öğretmenlerinin ve müzik eğitimi alan öğrencilerin, müzik derslerinde çalgı kullanımının önemi ve gerekliliğine ilişkin düşünce, görüş ve önerilerini tespit etmektir. Tarama (Survey) deseninde yürütülen çalışmaya Trabzon ili merkez ve ilçelerindeki ortaokullarda görev yapan 18 müzik öğretmeni ile, bu okullarda öğrenim gören 312 öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplamak için biri görüş alma formu, diğer ikisi görüş anketi olmak üzere üç farklı veri toplama aracı kullanılmıştır. Öğrenciler için yalnızca görüş anketi, öğretmenler için hem görüş anketi, hem de görüş alma formu birlikte kullaılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; çalışma grubu müzik öğretmenlerinin çalgı eğitiminin müzik derslerinin ayrılmaz bir parçası olması gerektiğini, çalgı eğitiminin öğretim programında çeşitli düzenlemelerle zorunlu olması gerektiğini düşündükleri, çalgı eğitiminin göz ardı edilmesi durumunda öğrenciler açısından; sosyal gelişime destek olamama, yeterli özgüveni oluşturamama, müziği enstrümansız olarak yaşama ve öğrenme zorunda kalma, zihin ve kas koordinasyonunu sağlamaya dönük etkinliklerin olmaması, bu konuda belli hobiler ve uğraşlar elde edememe şeklinde olumsuz sonuçların oluşacağını, kendileri açısından da; çalgı eğitimi sayesinde oluşacak olan derse dönük ilgiyi diri tutma potansiyelini yok etmesi, öğrencilerin çalmaya dönük meraklarını giderememe, potansiyel çalma yetenekli öğrencileri tespit edememe, enstrüman eğitimi olmayan bir müzik dersinin nitelik açısından yetersiz kalacağı şeklinde olumsuz sonuçları olacağını ifade etmişlerdir. Ayrıca öğretmenler sağlıklı bir çalgı eğitimi için her okulda çok donanımlı müzik dersliklerinin olması gerektiğini, müzik ders saatlerinin arttırılması gerektiğini, öğrencilerin taleplerine göre müzik derslerine ek olarak okullarında ayrıca“Seçmeli Müzik”dersinin de olması gerektiğini öne sürmüşlerdir Çalışma grubu öğrencilerinin; müzik dersinde çalgı eğitiminin yeri ve önemine ilişkin çok büyük oranlarda farkındalık gösterdikleri, büyük oranlarda olumlu yönde görüşler sundukları ve çalgı eğitimine ilişkin pozitif beklenti içinde bulundukları, tamamının olumlu önermelerden oluştuğu öğrenci anketinin sonuç ölçütünün,“Katılıyorum”düzeyinde olduğu, ancak öğrencilerin çalgı eğitimini tüm öğrenciler için zorunlu olması gereken bir çalışma alanı olarak görmediği, daha çok“seçmeli”boyutuyla ön plana çıkması gereken bir müzik dersi bileşeni olarak gördükleri, anlaşılmaktadır.

The aim of this study is to determine the thoughts, opinions and suggestions of music teachers working in secondary schools and music education students about the importance and necessity of using instruments in music lessons. Eighteen music teachers working in secondary schools in the centre and districts of Trabzon province and 312 students studying in these schools participated in the study conducted in survey design. Three different data collection tools, one of which was an opinion form and the other two were opinion questionnaires, were used to collect data in the study. For the students, only the opinion questionnaire was used, and for the teachers, both the opinion questionnaire and the opinion form were used together. As a result of the research; the music teachers of the study group thought that instrument education should be an integral part of music lessons, instrument education should be compulsory with various arrangements in the curriculum, in case of ignoring instrument education, negative results would occur for the students such as not being able to support social development, not being able to form sufficient self-confidence, having to live and learn music without an instrument, not having activities to ensure mind and muscle coordination, not being able to obtain certain hobbies and occupations in this regard, and for themselves; the potential to keep the interest in the lesson alive thanks to instrument education, not being able to satisfy the curiosity of the students towards playing, not being able to identify students with potential playing skills, and that a music lesson without instrument education would be inadequate in terms of quality. In addition, the teachers suggested that there should be well-equipped music classrooms in every school for a healthy instrument education, music lesson hours should be increased, and there should be an“Elective Music”course in addition to music lessons according to the demands of the students. It is understood that the students in the study group showed a very high level of awareness about the place and importance of instrument education in the music course, presented positive opinions at high rates and had positive expectations about instrument education, and that the result criterion of the student questionnaire, all of which consisted of positive propositions, was at the level of“I agree”; however, it is understood that the students do not see instrument education as a field of study that should be compulsory for all students, but rather as a music course component that should come to the fore with its“elective”dimension.
