Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, Ortaokul Türkçe ders kitaplarında yazım kuralları ve noktalama işaretlerinin öğretimine yönelik hazırlanan etkinlikler ve tema sonu değerlendirme sorularının incelenmesidir. Bu temel amaç doğrultusunda çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan durum çalışması yöntemi benimsenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma materyalini 2022-2023 eğitim-öğretim yılında 5, 6, 7, 8. sınıf düzeylerinde okutulan sekiz ortaokul Türkçe ders kitabı oluşturmuştur. Araştırma verileri, doküman incelemesi tekniği kullanılarak toplanmış, elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz ile çözümlenmiş ve tablo ile görsellerle sunulmuştur. İncelemeye alınan 8 ortaokul Türkçe ders kitabında yazım kuralları ve noktalama işaretlerinin kullanımı ile ilgili toplam 168 uygulamaya rastlanmıştır. 168 uygulama içerisinde en çok tespit edilen uygulama, 33 uygulama ile yazım ve noktalama kurallarını uygulama/gözden geçirmedir. Ders kitaplarında yazım kuralları ve noktalama işaretlerinin kullanımı ile ilgili uygulamalar daha çok etkinlik olarak yer almıştır. Tema sonu değerlendirme sorularında ise bu uygulamalara sınırlı sayıda yer verilmiştir. Ortaokul Türkçe ders kitaplarında yazım kuralları ve noktalama işaretlerinin kullanımı ile ilgili etkinliklerin niceliği düşünüldüğünde yeterli olmadığı görülmektedir. 8. Sınıf Türkçe ders kitabı hariç 5, 6 ve 7. Sınıf Türkçe ders kitaplarında genel olarak sayıların yazımı, birleşik kelimelerin yazımı, büyük harflerin kullanımı ve soru ekinin yazımı ile ilgili uygulamaların yer aldığı görülmüştür. Yine 8. Sınıf Türkçe ders kitabı hariç 5, 6 ve 7. Sınıf Türkçe ders kitaplarında genel olarak ünlemin, virgülün, soru işaretinin, noktalı virgülün, iki noktanın, tırnak işaretinin, noktanın, kesme işaretinin ve eğik çizginin kullanımına ilişkin uygulama örneklerine rastlanmıştır. Çalışma sonuçlarından hareketle ortaokul Türkçe ders kitaplarında yazım kuralları ve noktalama işaretlerinin kullanımına yönelik etkinlik örnekleri ile öğrenmeyi pekiştirecek şekilde tema sonu değerlendirme sorularının hem nicelik hem de nitelik olarak artırılması gerektiği düşünülmektedir.

The aim of this research is to examine the activities and end-of-theme evaluation questions those are prepared for teaching spelling rules and punctuation marks in Secondary School Turkish textbooks. In reaching this main purpose, one of the qualitative research methods was adopted in the study. The study material of the research consisted of eight secondary school Turkish textbooks taught at the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels in the 2022-2023 academic year. Research data was collected using the document analysis technique, the obtained data was analyzed with descriptive analysis and presented with tables and visuals. Totally 168 applications including the use of spelling rules and punctuation marks were found in the 8 secondary school Turkish textbooks that are examined. With 33 applications, the most common application among 168 applications is applying/reviewing spelling and punctuation rules. In textbooks, practices related to spelling rules and the use of punctuation marks are mostly included as activities. These applications were included in a very limited number in the end-of-theme assessment questions; however, considering the quantity of activities related to spelling rules and the use of punctuation marks in secondary school Turkish textbooks, it can be said that they are not sufficient for the teaching process. It has been observed that 5th, 6th and 7th Grade Turkish textbooks generally include practices related to the writing of numbers, the writing of compound words, the use of capital letters and the writing of question suffixes but this is not valid for the 8th Grade Turkish textbook. Again, except for the 8th Grade Turkish textbook, efficient and comprehensive examples of applications that is dealing with the use of exclamation points, commas, question marks, semicolons, colons, quotation marks, periods, apostrophes and slashes were obviously found in the 5th, 6th and 7th Grade Turkish textbooks. According to the basics on the results of the study, it is thought that the end-of-theme evaluation questions must be increased both in quantity and quality in secondary school Turkish textbooks in order to reinforce learning with activity examples on the use of spelling rules and punctuation marks.
