Özet
İlk çağlardan günümüze hayata dair sorgulamaların içinde olduğumuz evrende, bilgi evreninin günden güne gelişmesiyle ve yeni öğretilerin hayatımıza girmesiyle fikir dünyamızı ve kavram bilgimizi genişletecek gelişmelere kucak açmaktayız. Evren hakkında sorularımızın ve bilinmezliğin sonsuza kadar süreceği düşünülürse felsefe, bireylerin aklında oluşan soruları dile getirme cesareti gösterdikleri bir alan olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Eğitimin öneminin eskilere dayandığı bilinen bir gerçek olsa da eğitim şekilleri her coğrafyada farklı şekilde gelişim göstermiştir. Her dönemin kendine özgü toplumsal yapıları vardır, bu nedenle eğitimin şekillenmesinde her toplum kendinden izler katarak eğitimin gelişimine katkıda bulunmuştur. John Dewey içinde yetiştiği eğitim sisteminin değişmesi gerektiğine ilişkin kanaatini gerek eserleriyle gerek üniversitelerde verdiği derslerle gerekse tasarladığı okulu kurmasıyla ortaya koymuştur. Eğitim üzerine fikirleriyle dikkatleri üzerine çeken Dewey, var olan eğitim sistemlerinin bazılarını eleştirmiş, bazılarının da eksik yönlerini vurgulayarak eğitime dair yeni bir anlayış oluşturmuştur. Felsefe eğitimi alanında gösterdiği yenilikçi yaklaşımlar aynı dönemde yaşayan diğer akademisyenleri de etkilemiştir. Bu ise tezimizin ana konularından biri olan Çocuklar İçin Felsefe eğitim anlayışının doğuşuna ilham olmuştur. Bu çalışmada bu anlayışın oluşmasında etkili olan eğitim anlayışlarından bahsedilmektedir, ayrıca bu anlayışın günümüze yansıyan yönleri, neden olduğu gelişmeler, topluma ve bireye sağladığı faydalar üzerinde durulmaktadır.

In the universe where we have been inquiring about life from the earliest ages to the present day, we embrace developments that will expand our world of ideas and our knowledge of concepts as the universe of knowledge develops day by day and new teachings enter our lives. Considering that our questions about the universe and the unknown will continue forever, philosophy appears as a field where individuals dare to express the questions that arise in their minds. Although it is a known fact that the importance of education dates to ancient times, the forms of education have developed differently in every geography. Each period has its own unique social structures, so each society has contributed to the development of education by adding traces of itself in the shaping of education. John Dewey revealed his ideas about the need to change the education system in which he grew up, both through his works, the lectures he gave at universities, and by establishing the school he designed. Dewey, who attracted attention with his ideas on education, criticized some of the existing education systems and created a new understanding of education by emphasizing the deficiencies of some of them. His innovative approaches in the field of philosophy education also influenced other academicians living in the same period. This inspired the birth of the Philosophy for Children approach to education, which is one of the main topics of this thesis. In this study, the educational approaches that were effective in the formation of this understanding are mentioned, and the aspects of this understanding that are reflected in the present day, the developments it has caused, and the benefits it provides to society and the individual are emphasized.
