Özet
Antik çağlardan günümüze varoluşu incelediğimiz evrende, bilginin sürekli ilerlemesi ve hayatımıza yeni bakış açılarının dahil edilmesiyle birlikte, entelektüel ve kavramsal ufuklarımızı genişletecek gelişmeleri memnuniyetle karşılıyoruz. İnsan araştırmalarının ve kozmosun gizemlerinin sürekli olduğu göz önüne alındığında, felsefe, bireylerin bilinçlerinde gelişen soruları dile getirme cesaretini gösterdiği bir disiplin olarak ortaya çıkar. Felsefe, bu savları rasyonel, tutarlı, kapsamlı ve eleştirel olarak irdeleyen ve bir sisteme dahil eden disiplinin adıdır. Eğitimin önemi antik çağlardan beri kabul edilmiş olsa da pedagojik yaklaşımlar farklı bölgelerde değişken bir şekilde gelişmiştir. Her çağ farklı sosyal yapılara sahiptir, bu nedenle her toplum, kendi etkilerini büyümesine damga vurarak eğitimin evrimine katkıda bulunmuştur. John Dewey, yetiştirildiği eğitim sisteminin reforma ihtiyacı olduğuna olan inancını yazıları, üniversite dersleri ve amaçladığı okulun kurulmasıyla kanıtlamıştır. Eğitim üzerine fikirleriyle dikkatleri üzerine çeken Dewey, var olan eğitim sistemlerinin bazılarını eleştirmiş, bazılarının da eksik yönlerini vurgulayarak eğitime dair yeni bir anlayış oluşturmuştur. Bu çalışma, John Dewey'in eğitim teorisinin Türk okul sistemi üzerindeki etkisini kapsamlı bir şekilde analiz etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Dewey'in pragmatist bakış açısı, eğitimi, bireysel deneyimleri şekillendiren ve sosyal değişimi teşvik eden bir süreç olarak görmektedir. Dewey, bireylerde eleştirel düşünceyi, problem çözme yeteneklerini ve sosyal uyumluluğu geliştirmek için eğitimin salt bilgi aktarımının ötesine geçmesi gerektiğini savunur. Araştırmada, Dewey'in eğitimde deneyimin önemi, okul ve toplum arasındaki bağlantı ve demokratik eğitim anlayışı hakkındaki bakış açılarını analiz etmektedir. Elde edilen bulgular, Dewey'in deneysel, demokratik ve eleştirel düşünmeye dayalı eğitim yaklaşımının Türkiye'deki eğitim reformlarını etkilediğini göstermektedir. Dewey'in kavramları, demokratikleşme ve deneyimsel öğrenme konusunda çağdaş eğitimde rehber niteliğindedir.

In the universe where we have examined existence from ancient times to the present, with the continuous advancement of knowledge and the inclusion of new perspectives in our lives, we welcome developments that will expand our intellectual and conceptual horizons. Considering that human research and the mysteries of the cosmos are continuous, philosophy emerges as a discipline in which individuals dare to express questions that develop in their consciousness. Although the importance of education has been accepted since ancient times, pedagogical approaches have developed variably in different regions. Each era has different social structures, therefore each society has contributed to the evolution of education by leaving its mark on its growth. John Dewey proved his belief that the education system in which he was raised needed reform with his writings, university lectures and the establishment of the school he aimed for. Dewey, who attracted attention with his ideas on education, criticized some of the existing education systems and emphasized the deficiencies of others, creating a new understanding of education. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the impact of John Dewey's education theory on the Turkish school system. Dewey's pragmatist perspective sees education as a process that shapes individual experiences and promotes social change. Dewey argues that education should go beyond the mere transfer of knowledge in order to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and social adaptability in individuals. The study analyzes Dewey's perspectives on the importance of experience in education, the connection between school and society, and the concept of democratic education. The findings show that Dewey's experimental, democratic, and critical thinking-based educational approach has influenced educational reforms in Turkey. Dewey's concepts are a guide in contemporary education regarding democratization and experiential learning.
