Özet
Maurice Merleau-Ponty, felsefi serüveni boyunca Kartezyen geleneğin ve onun takipçileri olan empirist ve entelektüalist geleneklerin neden olduğu zihin-beden, özne-nesne, içkinlik-aşkınlık düalizmlerini eleştirmiş; felsefesini bu geleneklerin karşı karşıya kaldığı skeptizm ve solipsizm tehdidinden korumaya çalışmıştır. Bu doğrultuda orta dönem eseri olan Algının Fenomenolojisi'nde empirist ve entelektüalist geleneklerin indirgemeci yaklaşımlarına alternatif olarak bedenselliği merkezine aldığı fenomenolojik yöntemini sunar. Algının Fenomenolojisi'nde öne sürdüğü özne-beden kavramının geleneğin miras bıraktığı ikilikleri aşmakta başarısız olmasının ardından Merleau-Ponty son eseri olan Görünür ile Görünmez'de felsefesini kalbine ten ve tersine çevrilebilirlik kavramlarını yerleştirdiği bir ontolojiye doğru genişletir. Merleau-Ponty'nin eserleri arasında bir süreklilik, terminolojik değişim ve gelişme vardır. Henüz Algının Fenomenoloji'sinde dahi son eserinin ontolojik izlerine rastlamak mümkün olduğu için onun fenomenolojisi bir fenomenolojik ontolojidir. Bu çalışma Merleau-Ponty'nin fenomenolojik ontolojisinden hareketle ortaya koyduğu ben, başkası ve dünya arasındaki içsel ve karşılıklı ilişkiyi açığa çıkaran tersine çevrilebilirlik kavramının incelenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Görünür dünyada ikamet eden algı ve görünmez dünyada işlev gören dil olmak üzere iki veçhesi bulunan tersine çevrilebilirlik tezinde Merleau-Ponty görünür dünyada ben, nesneler/dünya ve başkası; görünmez dünyada ise dil ve dünya arasındaki tersine çevrilebilirlik ilişkisini göstermeye çalışır. Bu doğrultuda çalışmamız görünür ve görünmez ile algı ve dil arasındaki tersine çevrilebilirlik ilişkisinin gösterilmesiyle geleneksel monizmin yol açtığı özdeşlik probleminin ve geleneksel düalizmin neden olduğu özne-nesne, içkinlik-aşkınlık karşıtlığının Merleau-Ponty'nin 'farklılık-içinde-özdeşlik' fikriyle nasıl aşılabileceği sorusunu konu edinecek ve onun monist ve düalistik olmayan bir fenomenolojik ontoloji ortaya koyma çabasını açıklamaya çalışacaktır. Çalışmamız nihayetinde görünür ve görünmez, algı ve dil, dil ve dünya arasındaki tersine çevrilebilirlik ilişkisinin düğüm noktasında metaforik/yaratıcı dil edimlerinin yer aldığına dair bir yorum sunacaktır.

Throughout his philosophical journey, Maurice Merleau-Ponty criticized the dualisms of mind-body, subject-object, and immanence-transcendence caused by the Cartesian tradition and its followers, the empiricist and intellectualist traditions. He attempted to protect his philosophy from the threat of skepticism and solipsism faced by these traditions. In this regard, in his mid-period work Phenomenology of Perception, he presented his phenomenological method, centering on embodiment, as an alternative to the reductionist approaches of empiricist and intellectualist traditions. After the concept of body-subject he proposed in the Phenomenology of Perception failed to overcome the dualities inherited by tradition, Merleau-Ponty expanded his philosophy towards an ontology in which he placed the concepts of flesh and reversibility at the heart of his last work, The Visible and the Invisible. There is continuity, terminological change, and development among Merleau-Ponty's works. Since it is possible to encounter ontological traces of his last work even in the Phenomenology of Perception, his phenomenology is a phenomenological ontology. This study aims to examine the concept of reversibility introduced by Merleau-Ponty, which reveals the internal and reciprocal relationship between the self, the other, and the world, and is based on his phenomenological ontology. In the reversibility thesis which has two aspects, i.e., perception inhabiting in the visible world and language functioning in the invisible world, Merleau-Ponty attempts to demonstrate the reversibility relationship between the self, the objects/world and the other in the visible world, and between language and the world in the invisible world. In this line, our study will focus on the question of how the problem of identity arising from traditional monism and the opposition of subject-object, immanence-transcendence caused by traditional dualism can be overcome through Merleau-Ponty's idea of 'identity-within-difference', by showing the reversibility relationship between the visible and the invisible, perception and language, and will try to explain his effort to put forward a non-monist and a non-dualistic phenomenological ontology. Our study will ultimately offer an interpretation that metaphorical/creative language acts are at the crux of the reversibility relationship between the visible and the invisible, perception and language, and language and world.
