Özet

In this thesis, Contemporary art and Bio art were examined in detail and information was given about the artists and scientists working in this field. In addition, research has been carried out on how abstract art is affected by science, and the emphasis of the effects on the works of the artists has been tried to be made separately. It has been tried to convey the effects of the reflections of bio art on painting art and abstract art on the way of transforming science into art. In the first part of the thesis, necessary definitions were made about Abstract Art, and Wassily Kandisky, the most important representative of abstract art, who made the most important contribution to the taking of abstract art in the history of art, and his works were discussed. The development of abstract art after 1940 and its transformation up to the present are discussed, together with the changing world and the fact that art has changed. In the second part of the thesis, the interaction between science, art and nature on interdisciplinary interaction was emphasized, emphasizing that each of them feeds on each other. Information was given about important artists in the history of art and their works, who made the reflection of science, art and nature intertwined on works of art. In addition, researches have been made in different art branches about its reflections on contemporary art. In the third part of the thesis, there are studies of scientists and artists on the subject of turning scientific studies into art, in which science is at the forefront. However, it has been emphasized that there is a microorganism that is too small to be seen with the naked eye in science, and bioart is discussed as the field where it has become a work of art in terms of revealing this micro world. Information was given about foreign, local, scientists and artists working in the field of bio art and their works were given.

Multilevel image thresholding is an important image processing technique used to segment an image into meaningful features at an advanced level. In this study, a web-based image processing tool has been developed for multilevel image thresholding. This tool includes the newly proposed GWO-HS algorithm alongside nine different optimization algorithms. Users can utilize any of these algorithms to obtain results for their desired image and threshold levels. They can compare these results and export their outputs. The proposed GWO-HS algorithm is a hybridization of Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) and Harmony Search (HS) algorithms. The performance of this algorithm has been compared with the performances of nine other algorithms. Otsu, Kapur, and Tsallis entropy-based thresholding methods were used for the comparisons. In the experiments, six well-known and widely used images in image processing were preferred. Thresholding was applied to each image for levels ranging from 2 to 10. The results demonstrated that the proposed GWO-HS algorithm has superior performance compared to other algorithms, especially for higher threshold levels.
