MODERN FELSEFE VE BİLİMDE OLASILIK VE WİTTGENSTEİN FELSEFESİNDE BİLİM, OLASILIK VE KESİNLİK Ömer GÖRÜCÜ Erciyes Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Doktora Tezi, Ağustos 2024 Danışman: Doç. Dr. Sedat DOĞAN ÖZET İnsan, eski çağlardan beri geleceği öngörebilmek ve kesin bilgiye ulaşabilmek için kimi zaman falcılara müracaat etmiş, kimi zaman kâhinlere başvurmuş, kimi zaman da doğada meydana gelen olaylardan sonuçlar çıkarmaya çalışmıştır. Bu anlamda Thales'den itibaren doğa ve doğada meydana gelen değişimler filozoflar için çok önemli bir inceleme konusu olmuştur. Bu konudaki en önemli gelişmelerden birisi şüphesiz ki Isaac Newton'un çalışmalarıdır. Newton tarafından 1687 yılında yayımlanan Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy adlı kitap ile fizik bilimi modern anlamda bilimsel bir kuram haline gelmiştir. Bu kuram ile doğada var olan devinim ile ilgili her şeyin açıklanabileceği düşüncesi kabul görmeye başlamıştır. Fakat on sekizinci yüzyıla gelindiğinde kuantum teorisi ortaya atılmıştır. Bu teori ile Newton'un kuramının her şeyi açıklayabileceği düşüncesi artık önemini yitirmiştir. Kuantum teorisi doğa bilimlerinin yanı sıra sosyal bilimlerde de oldukça etkili olmuştur. Bundan sonra bilginin olasılıklı yapısı daha ön plana çıkmıştır. Artık, temellendirilmiş gerçek bilgi için bir Arşimet noktası arayışı felsefede önemli bir problemdir. Yirminci yüzyılın en etkili düşünürlerinden birisi olan Wittgenstein da bu temellendirmeyi dilde yapmak ister. Ona göre bilginin zeminini dil bağlamının dışında aramak da zaten anlamsızdır. Bu tezimizde doğa bilimlerinde meydana gelen paradigma değişikliğinin bilginin kesinliğine etkisi ile modern felsefe ve bilimde olasılık ve Wittgenstein'in felsefesinde bilim, kesinlik ve olasılık konusunu ele alacağız.

Prof. Sedat DOĞAN ABSTRACT Since ancient times, in order to foresee the future and reach definitive knowledge, humans have sometimes consulted fortune tellers, sometimes oracles, and sometimes tried to draw conclusions from events occurring in nature. In this sense, since Thales, nature and the changes occurring in nature have been a very important subject of study for philosophers. One of the most important developments in this regard is undoubtedly Isaac Newton's work. With the book Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy published by Newton in 1687, physics became a scientific theory in the modern sense. The idea that everything related to the motion in nature could be explained with this theory began to be accepted. However, by the eighteenth century, quantum theory was put forward. With this theory, the idea that Newton's theory could explain everything has lost its importance. Quantum theory has been quite influential in social sciences as well as natural sciences. After this, the probabilistic structure of knowledge has come to the forefront. Now, the search for an Archimedean point for grounded real knowledge is an important problem in philosophy. Wittgenstein, one of the most influential thinkers of the twentieth century, also wants to make this grounding in language. According to him, it is meaningless to look for the ground of knowledge outside the context of language. In this thesis, we will discuss the effect of the paradigm shift in natural sciences on the certainty of knowledge, probability in modern philosophy and science, and science, certainty, and probability in Wittgenstein's philosophy.
