Özet
İnternet, sanal gerçeklik, yapay zekâ ve yaşam simülasyonu oyunları gibi icatlarla dijitalleşen dünyada günümüzde toplumsal yapıda modernden postmodern yaşam biçimlerine geçiş yapılmakta ve doğrudan yaşanan bu deneyimler aracılığıyla da siber bir kültür oluşturulmaktadır. Modernizme karşı bir eleştiri olarak ortaya çıkan postmodernizm, modernizmin iyimserlik ve insan merkezci anlayışına tepki gösterirken, posthümanizm de hümanizme bir eleştiri getirerek insanlık üzerine olan düşünceyi ve bireyin konumunu irdelemektedir. Bu süreçte gerçeklik algısının dönüşümü de temel tartışma konularından birisi olmaktadır. Gerçeklik konusunun sıkça tartışıldığı bir alan olan medya da bu doğrultuda film ve diziler üretmektedir. Postmodernizm, posthümanizm ve gerçekliğin inşası hakkındaki güncel tartışmalar ücretli bir televizyon ağı olan HBO kanalında yayımlanan Westworld dizisinin merkezinde de yer almaktadır. Bu çalışmada Michael Crichton'ın 1973 yapımı aynı adlı bilim kurgu filminden uyarlanan ve ziyaretçilerine heyecan verici bir deneyimi, şiddeti, seksi ve eğlenceyi sınırsız yaşama fırsatını vaat eden Westworld dizisi, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel içerik analiz yöntemiyle postmodernizm, posthümanizm ve gerçeklik kavramları çerçevesinde irdelenmekte ve dizisinin melez bir tür örneği olarak işlevi belirlenmektedir. Amaca uygun olarak belirlenen bölümler, gerçeklik, ölümsüzlük, yeniden üretim ve insanlık-makine etkileşimi temaları altında analize tabi tutulmuş ve dizinin bilim kurgu-western tür işlevine sahip melez bir tür olmayı başardığı, simüle edilmiş varlıklarla simüle edilmiş bir dünyayı hiper-gerçek bir ortamda tasvir ettiği, ölümsüzlüğün icadıyla insana dair gelişimin posthümana doğru kurulduğu ve insan-makine arasındaki etkileşiminin postmodernizm ile iç içe geçtiği bulgulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak dizi izleyicisini failliği, öznelliği ve karşılıklılığı hayal etmenin yollarına yönlendirmekte, insanı anlamanın mevcut yollarının sınırlılıklarıyla yüzleştirirken de insanın yerleşimci-sömürgeci anlayışta suç ortaklığının bulunduğunu ileri sürmektedir.

In today's digitalised world with inventions such as the Internet, virtual reality, artificial intelligence and life simulation games, there is a transition from modern to postmodern life styles in the social structure and a cyber culture is created through these direct experiences. Postmodernism, which emerged as a criticism against modernism, reacts to the optimism and anthropocentric understanding of modernism, while posthumanism brings a criticism to humanism and examines the thought on humanity and the position of the individual. In this process, the transformation of the perception of reality is one of the main topics of discussion. The media, which is a field where the issue of reality is frequently discussed, produces films and series in this direction. Current debates on postmodernism, posthumanism and the construction of reality are at the centre of the series Westworld, which is broadcast on HBO, a pay television network. In this study, it is aimed to analyse the series Westworld, which is adapted from Michael Crichton's 1973 science fiction film of the same name, and announces that it promises its visitors the opportunity to experience an exciting experience, violence, sex and entertainment without limits, within the framework of postmodernism, posthumanism and reality concepts through from qualitative research methods descriptive analysis method and to determine the function of the series as an example of a hybrid genre. The 12 episodes determined in accordance with the purpose were subjected to descriptive analysis under the themes of reality, immortality, reproduction and human-machine interaction, and it was found that the series succeeded in becoming a hybrid genre with the functions of science fiction, western and adventure-action genres, depicting a simulated world with simulated beings in a hyper-real environment, the development of human beings towards posthumanism with the invention of immortality, and the interaction between human and machine was intertwined with postmodernism. As a result, the series directs its viewers to ways of imagining agency, subjectivity and reciprocity, confronting the limitations of existing ways of understanding human beings, and suggesting human complicity in settler-colonialism.
