Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı kesirlerde problem konusunun Gerçekçi Matematik Eğitimi ile öğretiminin öğrenci başarısına etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmada karma araştırma yöntemlerinden gömülü desen yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Nicel kısımda ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen modeli tercih edilmiştir. Nitel kısım da ise durum çalışması yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Araştırma 2023-2024 eğitim yılında İstanbul ilindeki bir devlet okulunda 6. sınıfta eğitim alan 18'i deney ve 17'si kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam 35 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Deney grubunda dersler Gerçekçi Matematik Eğitimine uygun hazırlanan problem cümleleri ile kontrol grubunda dersler Millî Eğitim Bakanlığının (MEB) 6. sınıf matematik ders kitabındaki etkinlikler baz alınarak işlenmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak“Kesirlerde Problemler Başarı Testi”kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca soru bazlı görüş formu kullanılmıştır. Ön test ve son test olarak uygulanan testten elde edilen veriler SPSS 26.0 paket programıyla analiz edilmiştir. Veriler; bağımsız örneklemler t testi, Mann- Whitney U testi, Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar Testi ve karışık ölçümler için iki yönlü varyans analizi ile analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda, deney grubundaki öğrencilerin başarı puanlarında çalışma öncesi ve sonrası bakımından anlamlı bir farklılık oluşmuştur. Ayrıca, deney grubundaki öğrenciler ile kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerin toplam puanları arasında deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur. Buna göre bu araştırmada Gerçekçi Matematik Eğitimine uygun öğretimin 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin kesirlerde problemler konusundaki akademik başarılarını arttırmada etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca öğrenci görüşlerini olumlu yönde etkilediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of teaching fraction problem with Realistic Mathematics Education on student success. The embedded design method, one of the mixed research methods, was used in the research. In the quantitative part, a pretest-posttest control group quasi-experimental design model was preferred. In the qualitative part, the case study method was preferred. The research was conducted with a total of 35 students, 18 of whom were in the experimental group and 17 of whom were in the control group, studying in the 6th grade at a public school in Istanbul in the 2023-2024 academic year. In the experimental group, the lessons were taught with problem sentences prepared in accordance with Realistic Mathematics Education, and in the control group, the lessons were taught based on the activities in the 6th grade mathematics textbook of the Ministry of National Education (MEB).“Fraction Problems Achievement Test”was used as a data collection tool in the research. Additionally, a question-based opinion form was used. The data obtained from the test applied as pre-test and post- test were analyzed with SPSS 26.0 package program. Data; It was analyzed by independent samples t test, Mann-Whitney U test, Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test and two-way analysis of variance for mixed measurements. As a result of the analysis, there was a significant difference in the achievement scores of the students in the experimental group before and after the study. Additionally, a significant difference was found between the total scores of the students in the experimental group and the control group in favor of the experimental group. Accordingly, in this study, it was concluded that teaching in accordance with Realistic Mathematics Education was effective in increasing the academic success of 6th grade students on problems with fractions. It was also concluded that it affected student opinions positively.
