Özet
Bu tez, çeşitli disiplin ve kuramlar tarafından tartışılmış oyun kavramına, sanat ve sanatın politik veçheleri esas alınarak bakmaya odaklanmıştır. Oyunun, evrensel ve çocukluktan yetişkinliğe tüm yaşama yayılarak herşeyle ilgili olması, tez boyunca göz önünde bulundurulmuş ve oyun, sanat hayat praksisi içindeki yeri üzerinden incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla, oyun olgusuna genel bir giriş yapılmış ve farklı teoriler üzerinden oyunun nitelikleri tespit edilmiştir. Oyunun ve oyunla ilişkili kavramların nasıl tanımlandığı tartışıldıktan sonra, oyun ve sanat ilişkisine tarihsel bir izlek takip edilerek bakılmıştır. Oyun ve oyunun sanat ve politikayla kesişimini analiz etmek üzere felsefe tarihi içinden çeşitli görüşlere değinilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda sırasıyla; Antik Yunan, Ortaçağ ve Rönesans halk kültürü ve karnavalları, Romantizm, Modernizm ve Postmodernizm oyunun sanat hayat bağlamı içindeki yerini göstermek adına gündelik yaşam ve politika özelinde incelenmiştir. Bu izlek, oyunun sanatsal ifade içinde politik bir nitelik taşıdığını göstermiştir. Bu tezde politika, yönetim ve devlet işlerinden azade olmayarak ve ancak bunların ötesinde ve gündelik yaşama içkin olarak ele alınmıştır. Tez boyunca, farklı sanatsal üretimlerden örnekler verilse de esas olarak tarihsel avangard sanat akımları olan Dadaizm ve Sürrealizm ile bunların ardılı sayılabilecek Sitüasyonist Enternasyonal'in üretimlerine odaklanılmıştır. Zira sanat, hayat ve politika mefhumlarını birlikte ele alan bu çalışma için söz konusu akımların oldukça belirleyici olduğu görülmüştür.

This thesis focuses on the concept of play, which has been the subject of debate within various academic disciplines and theoretical frameworks. In particular, it examines the role of play in the context of art and the political aspects of art. The thesis considers play as a universal phenomenon, pervasive throughout the lifespan from childhood to adulthood. It analyses play as a concept in the praxis of art and life. In this context, a general introduction to the phenomenon of play was discussed, and the qualities of play were identified through the application of different theoretical frameworks. Subsequently, the relationship between play and art has been examined in a historical context. This study examines the concept of play and its interconnections with art and politics, with a particular focus on the philosophical perspectives that have been presented on the subject. Accordingly, this study focuses on Ancient Greece, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, Romanticism, Modernism, and Postmodernism. This historical trajectory has demonstrated that the play exhibits a political quality within the domain of artistic expression. This thesis posits that the concept of politics is not limited to the domain of state administration and affairs. Rather, it is considered to be pervasive, extending beyond these realms into the realm of everyday life. Although examples of diverse artistic productions are presented throughout the thesis, the principal focus is on the historical avant-garde art movements (Dadaism and Surrealism) and their successor, the Situationist International. For this study, which considers the concepts of art, life, and politics together, indicates that the movements in question do play a determining role.
