-70- OZET Çevre sorunları günümüzde bütün dünya' da güncel konulardan biri haline gelmiştir. Dünyamızı yeni yüz yıl içerisinde çok ciddi çevresel problemler beklemektedir. Bunlar, dünya nüfusunun hızla artması, artan nüfusun kent merkezlerinde yoğunlaşması, küresel ısınma, ozon tabakasının zedelenmesi, iklim değişikliği, bitki örtüsünün ve su kaynaklarının yok olması şeklinde sıralanabilir. Çevre sorunları ile mücadelenin başarıya ulaşması şüphesiz insan faktörüne bağlıdır. Çevreyi kirleten de koruyup geliştirecek olan da insandır. O halde çevre konusundaki geleceğimiz, insanların çevre hakkında bilinçlenip daha duyarlı hale gelmesiyle mümkündür. insanları çevre konusunda bilinçlendirmek için eğitimin tüm kanallarından yararlanılmalıdır. Okulda uygulanan eğitimin yam sıra, okul dışı alanlardaki çevre eğitimi de önem taşımaktadır. Sporun kendisi ve spor ortamı insanın çevre sorunlarına karşı bilinçlenip duyarlılık kazanmasını sağlayabilir. Sporcuların çevre sorunlarına karşı yaklaşımlarını belirlemek amacıyla yapılan bu araştırmada, sporculara çevreye ilişkin sorular sorulmuş ve elde edilen veriler istatistiksel analizler sonucunda yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini çeşitli spor branşlarından ulusal ve uluslar arası yarışmalara katılmış 272 sporcu oluşturmuştur. Bu sporcuların %72'si erkek %28'i ise kadındır. Araştırma sonucu elde edilen veriler SPSS istatistik programında çözümlenmiştir. Khi-Kare (X2) testleri için Winstat, % de oranlar için ise Excel istatistik programlan kullanılarak veriler analiz edilmiştir. Teslerde alfa 0.05 anlamlılık düzeyinde ilişki aranmıştır. Sporcuların yaş dağılımı %40.4 oranında 19-21 yaş grubunda, %37.1'i 22- 24 yaş grubunda, %15.1'i 18 ve altı grubunda, %7,4 oranında ise, diğerleri takip etmektedir. Sporcuların spor branşlarına göre dağılımlarına bakıldığında,Takım sporları %67.2, Ferdi sporlar %27.2, Doğa sporları ise %5.5 oranındadır. Spor branşlanyla çevreye yaklaşım arasındaki ilişkiye baktığımızda doğa sporları yapan grubun, takım ve ferdi sporları yapanlara göre çevreci gönüllü kuruluşlarla-71- Ugilenme oranının daha yüksek olduğu görülmektedir. -72- SÜMMARY Environmetal problems became one of major concerns of the world today. The world will undoubtedly face very serious environmental problems in the coming century such as rapid increase in the world population, the concentration of this increased population in city centers, global heating, the destruction of the ozone layer, climatic changes and the destruction of water sources and plantation. The success of the fight against the environmental problems is undoubtedly dependent upon the human factor since it is human who both pollute and protect the environment. Therefore the future of environment is highly dependent upon the increased sensivity and conciousness of people upon environmentral problems. Therefore the people should be made concious about the the enviromental problem by the use of all channels and means of education. The education outside the school is as important as the education inside it. Sport may be useful in making the people sensitive upon environmental issues. In this study the sportsmen were asked various questions concerning the environment, aiming to determine their approach towards the environmental problems and the data obtained were evaluated by the use of statistical techniques. The sample group consisted 272 sportsmen and women who competed in various international competitions. Among these 72% were male and 28% were female. The data obtained were evaluated by the use of SPSS statistical program. The Psi-square tests were carried out by Winstat and % values were determined by Excell statsitical program, the significance level demanded for any relation obtained was at the level of 0.05. The distribution of the sportsmen and women interviewed was as follows : 40.4% were between 19 and 21. 37.1% were between 22 and 24, 15.1 were % 18 and below and 7.4 were at other ages. 67.2% of the sample group were involved with team sports, 27.2 % were dealing with individual sports and the ratio of the people interested in nature-73- sports was 5.5%.
