Özet
Osmanlı devletinin Selçuklu mirasından gelen medrese gibi büyük eğitim kurumlarının yanı sıra halkın her tabakasına hitap eden mektepler, yaşadığı her asırda değişim ve gelişimiyle ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu durum, halkı eğitim iş birliği içerisinde tutarak, toplumun eğitim bilincini ortaya koymuş ve bu doğrultuda hassasiyet uyandırmıştır. Halkın, eğitim müesseselerini sahiplenmelerinde büyük rol oynamıştır. Herhangi bir sözleşme olmaksızın devletin başından, toplumun en temel tabakasında kadar toplumsal bir iş birliği içerisinde işleyen mektep kurumlarının tarihsel süreci ve özellikle son dönem Osmanlısında mekteplerin yaşadığı gelişim ve değişim macerasını ortaya koymak bu araştırmanın temel hedefidir. Araştırmada, özellikle Osmanlı devletinin son döneminde oldukça yaygınlaşan mekteplerin; çeşitleri, işlevleri, müfredatları ve içerikleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Çalışmanın son kısmında verilen örnek ders kitaplarıyla mektep eğitiminin içeriğini somut olarak ortaya koymak hedeflenmiştir.

In the Ottoman Empire, in addition to large educational institutions such as madrasahs, which come from the Seljuk heritage, schools that appeal to all layers of the population have emerged with change and development in each century. This situation, by keeping the public in educational cooperation, revealed the educational awareness of society and aroused sensitivity in this direction and played a major role in the acceptance of these educational institutions by the public. he main goal of this research is to reveal the historical process of school institutions that operate in social cooperation from the highest point of the state to the most basic layer of society without any contract, and especially the process of development and change experienced by these schools in the late Ottoman Empire. The research focused on the types, functions, curricula and contents of schools that became widespread, especially in the last period of the Ottoman Empire. It is aimed to concretely reveal the content of school education with the sample textbooks given in the last part of the study.
