Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Tanpınar'ın nehir roman dizisinde yansıma bulan zihin dünyasını, devirsel zaman algısı ile bu kurama tezat vasıflara sahip olan pozitivizm bağlamında çözümlemek ve müziğin bu anlamdaki rolünü anlamaya çalışmaktadır. Bu amaca bağlı olarak çalışmada cevap aranan temel soru“Tanpınar'ın nehir roman dizisinde devirsel zaman algısı ve pozitivizm nasıl yer bulmakta ve musikiye dair unsurlar bu iki tezat kavrama biçimi bağlamında hangi yönleriyle yansıma bulmaktadır?”sorusudur. Çalışma, nitel araştırma yöntem ve teknikleriyle yürütülen ve içerik analizi çözümlemeleriyle gerçekleştirilen bir araştırmadır. Tanpınar'ın zihin dünyasında devir kuramının izlerini aramak için seçilen eserler, nehir roman grubuna giren, Mahur Beste, Sahnenin Dışındakiler ve Huzur romanlarıdır. Çalışmada nehir roman dizisinin seçilme nedeni, bu sınıfta yer alan eserlerin tek yazar tarafından kaleme alınan, bir ailenin veya topluluğun aynı sosyokültürel zeminde, birbirleri ile olan ilişkilerini ele alan olay örgüsünün anlatıldığı romanlar olmasıdır. Böylece bu tip romanların, nitelik itibarı ile birbiriyle sürekli irtibat içinde olması, devir kuramına bağlı olarak yapılacak çözümlemeler açısından önemli bir avantajdır. Bu çalışmada kullanılan Tanpınar'ın nehir roman dizisi, devirsel zaman algısı ve musikiye dair söylem kesitleri bakımından analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizlerde bu kurama gönderme yapan ifadelerde, anlamsal bütünlüğe önem verilmiş ve ifadeler bu bütünü koruyacak şekilde seçilmiştir. Bu şekilde seçilen ifadeler tematik kategorilere ayrılmış, devir kuramının yansıması bu temalar üzerinden yorumlanmıştır. Sıklıkla vurgulanan temalar analizlerde dikkate alınmakla birlikte, içerik analizlerinde sıklıkla başvurulan ve belirli temaların ne sıklıkta ortaya çıktığının teşhis edilmesinde nicel bir yol olarak çalışmalara dahil edilen sayısal göndermeler, bu çalışmada tercih edilmemiştir. Sonuç olarak nehir roman dizisinde Tanpınar'ın kurguladığı roman karakterleri ve olay örgüsü, hem her romanın kendi içerisinde hem de romanlar arası benzer ilişkiler açısından dikkat çekerken, anlatımın sürekli olarak geriye dönüş modeli ile kurgulanması devir kuramının yansıması niteliğindedir. Musiki ise zaman ve mekândan bağımsız olarak döngüsel aktarımın en önemli unsuru olarak dikkat çekmektedir.

The aim of this study is to analyze the world of Tanpınar's mind, which is reflected in the series of river novels, in the context of the theory of revolution and positivism, which has contrasting qualities to this theory, and to understand the role of music in this sense. Depending on this purpose, the main question sought to be answered in this study is“How do the theory of revolutions and positivism find a place in Tanpınar's series of river novels, and in what ways are the elements of music reflected in the context of these two contrasting ways of understanding?”. The study is a research conducted with qualitative research methods and techniques and analyzed through content analysis. The works chosen to search for the traces of the theory of revolution in Tanpınar's world of mind are the novels Mahur Beste, Sahnenin Dışışındakiler and Huzur, which belong to the river novel group. The reason for choosing the river novel series in this study is that the works in this class are novels written by a single author, in which the plot deals with the relations of a family or community with each other on the same socio-cultural ground. Thus, the fact that such novels are in constant contact with each other in terms of quality is an important advantage for the analysis to be made based on the theory of the cycle. The series of Tanpınar's river novels used in this study were analyzed in terms of the theory of revolutions and discourse segments on music. In the analysis, semantic integrity was given importance in the expressions referring to this theory and the expressions were chosen to preserve this integrity. The statements selected in this way were categorized thematically and the reflection of the transfer theory was interpreted through these themes. Although the frequently emphasized themes were taken into account in the analyses, numerical references, which are frequently used in content analyses and included in studies as a quantitative way of identifying how often certain themes emerge, were not preferred in this study. As a result, while the characters and plot of the novels fictionalized by Tanpınar in the series of river novels draw attention in terms of similar relationships both within each novel and between novels, the fact that the narrative is constantly constructed with the flashback model is a reflection of the theory of the cycle. Music, on the other hand, stands out as the most important element of cyclical transmission, independent of time and space.
