Özet
Özel yetenekli (ÖY) çocukların küçük yaşlarda tanılanması çok önemlidir. Bu tanı gerçekleşmez ise ÖY çocukların bir kısmı zamanla körelerek yeteneklerini yitirebilirler. ÖY çocukların yeteneklerinin keşfi ve geliştirilmesi konusunda ailelerin görevi ve sorumlulukları çok önemlidir. Türkiye'de ÖY çocukların ebeveynlerinin eğitsel yeterliklerini artırmaya yönelik çalışmalar sınırlıdır, bu konuda daha sistematik bir çalışmaya ihtiyaç olduğundan bu araştırma yapılmıştır. Bu araştırmanın amacı ÖY olan öğrencilerin ebeveynlerinin eğitsel yeterlik düzeylerinin artırılmasına yönelik geliştirilen ebeveyn eğitim programının etkililiğini belirlemektir. Araştırmada nitel ve nicel araştırma yöntemleri birlikte kullanılarak araştırma karma yöntemle desenlenmiştir. Bu kapsamda, araştırmada ilk olarak ÖY çocukların ebeveynlerinin, çocuklarının eğitimine ilişkin eğitsel ihtiyaçlarının belirlenmesi için nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın ikinci kısmında; ÖY öğrencilerin ebeveynlerinin eğitsel yeterlik düzeylerinin arttırılmasına yönelik geliştirilen ebeveyn eğitim programının etkililiğinin anlaşılması için nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan 'Ön Test-Son Test Kontrol Gruplu Deneysel Model' kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada bu model kullanılarak kontrol ve deney gruplarına yönelik uygulanacak ÖY öğrencilerin ebeveynlerine yönelik hazırlanan başarı testiyle ön test ve son test puan ortalamaları arasındaki fark durumunun belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın üçüncü kısmında ise ÖY çocuğu olan ebeveynlere yönelik hazırlanan ebeveyn eğitim programına katılan deney grubundaki ebeveynlere yönelik araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanmış olan sorular ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılarak sosyal geçerlik verilerine ulaşılmıştır. Hem nitel hem de nicel verilerle desteklenen bulgular, ebeveynlerin eğitim öncesi ve sonrasında bilgi düzeyleri arasında anlamlı farklılıklar olduğunu göstermiştir. Deney grubundaki ebeveynlerin tüm eğitim ünitelerinde anlamlı gelişim göstermeleri, programın genel anlamda etkili olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Kontrol grubunda gözlemlenen gelişim eksikliği, ebeveynlerin kendi başlarına çocuklarının eğitiminde yeterince etkili olamayacaklarını ve eğitim programlarına ihtiyaç duyduklarını göstermektedir. Bu araştırma, ebeveynlerin eğitim yoluyla çocuklarına daha bilinçli rehberlik yapabileceklerini ve çocuklarının eğitim süreçlerinde daha etkin rol alabileceklerini göstermektedir. Ebeveynlerin eğitsel yeterlik düzeylerinin artırılması, ÖY çocukların gelişim süreçlerini daha verimli hale getirmekte kritik bir unsur olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Eğitim programı, sadece teorik bilgi sağlamamış, aynı zamanda ebeveynlerin bu bilgileri pratikte nasıl uygulayacaklarını da öğretmiştir.

It is very important that gifted children are identified at an early age. If this diagnosis is not made, some gifted children may atrophy over time and lose their talents. The role and responsibilities of families in the discovery and development of the talents of gifted children are very important. In Türkiye, studies on increasing the educational competencies of parents of gifted children are limited, and this research was conducted because a more systematic study was needed on this subject. The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the parent training program developed to increase the educational competence levels of parents of gifted students. In the study, qualitative and quantitative research methods were used together and the research was designed with mixed method. In this context, firstly, semi-structured interview technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used to determine the educational needs of parents of gifted children regarding their children's education. In the second part of the study, one of the quantitative research methods, 'Pre-Test-Post-Test Experimental Model with Control Group' was used to understand the effectiveness of the family education program developed to increase the educational competence levels of parents of gifted students. By using this model in the research, it was aimed to determine the difference between the pre-test and post-test mean scores with the achievement test prepared for the parents of gifted students to be applied to the control and experimental groups. In the third part of the study, social validity data were obtained by conducting semi-structured interviews with the questions prepared by the researcher for the parents in the experimental group who participated in the family education program prepared for parents with gifted children. The findings supported by both qualitative and quantitative data showed that there were significant differences between the knowledge levels of the parents before and after the training. The fact that the parents in the experimental group showed significant improvement in all training units reveals that the program was effective in general. The lack of improvement observed in the control group suggests that parents cannot be effective enough in their children's education on their own and that they need training programs. This study shows that parents can guide their children more consciously through training and take a more active role in their children's educational processes. Increasing the educational competence of parents is a critical element in making the development process of gifted children more efficient. The training program not only provided theoretical knowledge, but also taught parents how to apply this knowledge in practice.
