Özet
İçerisinde var olunan dünya düzeninin sürekli olarak gösterdiği değişim ve dönüşümler tasarım alanındaki farklı ihtiyaçları da beraberinde getirmektedir. Bir tasarımın fikir üretiminden projesinin teslimine kadar olan süreçte, bu farklı ihtiyaçlara tasarımcı tarafından çözümler üretilmesi projenin işlevselliği ve sağladığı faydalar açısından önemli bir konu teşkil etmektedir. Günümüzde artık bir gereksinim olarak görülen evrensel tasarım ve sürdürülebilirlik gibi kavramların bu olumlu etkilere zemin hazırlayacak ihtiyaçlar olduğu söylenebilir. Bu iki tasarım olgusunun izinde birtakım kararların alınması kullanıcılar ile birlikte çevreyi, ekonomiyi ve sosyal bir olgu olarak görülen toplumu da etkilemektedir. Bu tez çalışmasında, evrensel tasarım ve sürdürülebilirlik kavramları ofis iç mekan tasarımları üzerinden incelenmiştir. Araştırma konusu olarak ofis iç mekan tasarımlarının seçilmesinin nedeni ise kişilerin hayatları boyunca en çok zaman geçirdikleri mekanlardan birisinin ofis yapıları olması ve ofis tasarımlarının bu kavramların ışığında gerçekleştirilmesi durumunda kullanıcıların motivasyonu ve üretkenliğinde olumlu değişimlerin yaşanabilmesi ve bu olumlu etkilerin de farklı pozitif sonuçları doğurabilme imkanı bulunmasıdır. Ayrıca ofis yapılarının geçmişten günümüze kadar geçen süreç içerisinde kavramsal ve tasarımsal açıdan değişimler geçirdiği bilinmektedir. Bu değişimler dönemin etkisiyle pozitif veya negatif etkilere yol açabilmektedir. Ancak pozitif etkilerin çoğaltılabilmesi amacıyla tasarımcılar tarafından proje üzerinde yoğunlaşılması gereken -evrensel tasarım ve sürdürülebilirlik gibi- bazı tasarım kararlarının mevcut olduğu söylenebilir. Tez çalışması dört bölümden oluşmakta olup, birinci bölümü“Giriş”kısmı oluşturmaktadır. Bu bölümünde üzerinde çalışılan konunun amacı, kapsamı ve araştırma yöntemi belirtilmektedir. İkinci bölümde, tez çalışmasında üzerinde durulan kavramlardan ilki olan evrensel tasarımın tanımı, süreç içerisindeki değişimi ve prensipleri örnekler ile ifade edilmiştir. İkinci kavram olan sürdürülebilirliğin de tanımlanmasının ardından, zamanla uğradığı değişimler ile kavramın çevresel, sosyal ve ekonomik boyutlarına değinilmiştir. Bu bölümün son kavramı ise çalışma olgusunun gerçekleştiği ofislerdir. Ofis kavramının ortaya çıkış sürecinin açıklanmasının akabinde, ofislerin zamanla uğradığı farklılaşma durumu aktarılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde ise evrensel tasarım ve sürdürülebilirlik kavramları ofis yapıları özelinde incelenmiştir. Ardından anlatılan bu iki kavram temelinde, seçilen iki örnek ofis yapısının iç mekan çözümlemeleri yapılmış ve sonuca gidilmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde ise tez çalışması boyunca yapılan araştırmalardan ve analizlerden elde edilen veriler evrensel ve sürdürülebilir tasarım kavramlarının doğrultusunda ele alınmıştır. Bu kavramlar ışığında ofis yapılarının tasarımı için gereken hususlara ve önerilere yer verilmiş, literatürde görülen eksikliklere değinilmiş ve bu akademik çalışmanın başlangıcında belirlenen araştırma sorularına ve hipoteze de yanıtlar verilerek tezin yazılma amaçlarının karşılanması sağlanmıştır.

The constant changes and transformations in the current world order bring along different needs in the field of design. In the process from the idea generation of a design to the delivery of the project, producing solutions to these different needs by the designer constitutes an important issue in terms of the functionality and benefits of the project. It can be said that concepts such as universal design and sustainability, which are now seen as a necessity, are the needs that will pave the way for these positive effects. Making some decisions following these two design phenomena affects the environment, economy and society, which is seen as a social phenomenon, along with the users. In this thesis, the concepts of universal design and sustainability are analyzed through office interior designs. The reason for choosing office interiors as the subject of the research is that office buildings are one of the places where people spend the most time throughout their lives, and if office designs are realized in the light of these concepts, positive changes can be experienced in the motivation and productivity of the users and these positive effects can lead to different positive results. It is also known that office buildings have undergone conceptual and design changes from the past to the present. These changes can lead to positive or negative effects with the influence of the period. However, it can be said that there are some design decisions - such as universal design and sustainability - that should be focused on by designers in order to increase the positive effects. The thesis consists of four chapters, the first of which is the“Introduction”. In this chapter, the purpose, scope and research methodology of the subject studied are stated. In the second chapter, the definition of universal design, which is the first of the concepts emphasized in the thesis study, its change in the process and its principles are expressed with examples. Following the definition of the second concept, sustainability, the changes it has undergone over time and the environmental, social and economic dimensions of the concept are mentioned. The last concept of this section is offices where the phenomenon of work takes place. Following the explanation of the emergence of the concept of office, the differentiation of offices over time is explained. In the third chapter, the concepts of universal design and sustainability are analyzed in terms of office buildings. Then, on the basis of these two concepts, the interiors of two selected sample office buildings were analyzed and conclusions were drawn. In the conclusion section, the data obtained from the researches and analyzes conducted throughout the thesis study are discussed in line with the concepts of universal and sustainable design. In the light of these concepts, the necessary considerations and recommendations for the design of office buildings are included, the deficiencies seen in the literature are addressed, and the research questions and hypothesis determined at the beginning of this academic study are answered, thus meeting the objectives of writing the thesis.
