Özet
Bu araştırmada BİLSEM'de ÖYG (Özel Yetenekleri Geliştirme) ve BYF (Bireysel Yetenekleri Fark Etme) eğitim programlarında kimya eğitimi gören ortaokul düzeyindeki öğrencilerin kimya dersine yönelik görüşlerinin; eğitim sistemi, kullanılan materyaller, ders saati ve öğrencilerin eğitim faaliyetleri ile ilgili beklentilerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Ülke için, gelecek için ve insanlık için birer değer olan özel yetenekli öğrencilerin gözünden kimya dersine yönelik eksikleri tespit ederek bu eksiklerin giderilmesi yolunda bir ışık tutmak ve bu sayede kimya bilimi alanında iyi yetiştirilmiş, bilgili ve donanımlı bireyler topluma kazandırmak araştırmanın hedefidir. Araştırmada yöntem olarak nitel araştırma modellerinden“Durum Çalışması”kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadaki katılımcılar İstanbul Fuat Sezgin Bilim Sanat Merkezi'nde kimya dersi almış 55 özel yetenekli öğrencidir. Veri toplama aracı olarak öğrencilere sekiz açık uçlu sorudan oluşan yapılandırılmış yazılı görüş formu yöneltilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular içerik analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmadan çıkan sonuca göre, öğrencilerin çoğu Bilsem'de aldıkları kimya eğitiminin ders saati, kullanılan materyaller, dersin içeriği açısından yeterli olduğu görüşündedir. Öğrencilerin çoğu Bilsem'de aldıkları kimya eğitimi ile okulda aldıkları kimya eğitiminin arasında anlamlı fark olduğunu düşünmektedir. En temel farkın ise okulda sınıf ortamında dersler ezberci yöntemle ve teorik bilgi üzerine verilirken, Bilsem'de laboratuvar ortamında deneylerle uygulamalı olarak verilmesi olduğu sonucu çıkmıştır. Ayrıca sınıf mevcudunun az olması, eğitim materyallerinin çeşitliliği ve ödev verilmemesi gibi etkenler Bilsem'deki kimya derslerinin öğrenciler için daha eğlenceli geçmesini sağlamaktadır.

In this study, the opinions of secondary school students studying chemistry in DST (Developing Special Talents) and RIT (Recognizing Individual Talents) education programs at BİLSEM towards chemistry course; It is aimed to examine the education system, the materials used, the course hours and the expectations of the students about the educational activities. The aim of the research is to identify the deficiencies in the chemistry course through the eyes of gifted students, who are a value for the country, to shed light on the elimination of these deficiencies, and thus to bring well-trained, knowledgeable and well-equipped individuals in the field of chemistry to the society.“Case Study”, one of the qualitative research models, was used as a method in the research. The participants in the study were 55 gifted students who took chemistry courses at Istanbul Fuat Sezgin Science and Art Center. As a data collection tool, students were asked a structured written opinion form consisting of eight open-ended questions. The findings were analyzed by content analysis method. According to the results of the research, most of the students think that the chemistry education they receive at Bilsem is sufficient in terms of course hours, materials used, and the content of the course. Most of the students think that there is a significant difference between the chemistry education they receive at Bilsem and the chemistry education they receive at school. It has been concluded that the main difference is that while the lessons are given in the classroom environment at school with rote method and theoretical knowledge, they are given practically with experiments in the laboratory environment in Bilsem. In addition, factors such as the small class size, the variety of educational materials and the lack of homework make the chemistry lessons at Bilsem more enjoyable for students.
