Özet

Bu çalışmada özgür irade ile depresyon arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Çalışmaya toplam 316 üniversite öğrencisi dâhil edilmiştir. Çalışmaya dâhil edilenlerin %81.3'ü kadın, %18.7'si ise erkektir. Çalışmada kadınların kaderci belirlenimcilik ve rastgelecilik, erkeklerin ise bilimsel belirlenimcilik ve özgür irade boyutlarından elde ettiği puanların anlamlı şekilde daha yüksek olduğu, özgür irade genel skoru açısından ise kadın ve erkekler arasında anlamlı fark olmadığı görülmüştür. Çalışma sonucunda 18-24 ve 35-44 yaş arasındaki üniversite öğrencilerinin özgür irade düzeyinin 25-34 yaş arasındakilerden anlamlı şekilde yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda öğrencilerin herhangi bir işte çalışıp çalışmama durumuna göre özgür irade ve belirlenimcilik düzeylerinde anlamlı bir farklılaşma olmadığı görülmüştür. Çalışma sonucunda katılımcıların hafif düzeyde depresyonunun olduğu ve kadınlarda depresyon düzeyinin erkeklerden daha yüksek olduğu, ancak her iki cinsiyet arasında depresyon düzeyi açısından farkın anlamlı olmadığı görüldü. Çalışma sonucunda 18-24 yaş arasındaki üniversite öğrencilerinin depresyon düzeyinin en yüksek, 35-44 yaş arasındakilerin en düşük olduğu saptansa da yaş gruplarına göre depresyon düzeyinde anlamlı farklılık olmadığı görülmüştür. Çalışmayan katılımcıların depresyon düzeyinin herhangi bir işte çalışan öğrencilerden daha yüksek olduğu saptansa da gruplar arasındaki farkın istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı olmadığı görüldü (p>0.05). Çalışma sonucunda rastgelecilik ve özgür irade genel düzeyi ile depresyon düzeyi arasında pozitif yönde ve çok düşük şiddette ilişki saptandı.

In this study, the relationship between free will and depression was analysed. A total of 316 university students were included in the study. Of those included in the study, 81.3% were female and 18.7% were male. In the study, it was observed that the scores obtained by women from the dimensions of fatalistic determinism and randomism, and by men from the dimensions of scientific determinism and free will were significantly higher, while there was no significant difference between men and women in terms of the general score of free will. As a result of the study, it was found that the free will level of university students aged 18-24 and 35-44 was significantly higher than those aged 25-34. As a result of the study, it was seen that there was no significant difference in the levels of free will and determinism according to whether the students were employed or not. As a result of the study, it was seen that the participants had mild depression and the level of depression was higher in women than in men, but the difference between both genders in terms of depression level was not significant. As a result of the study, it was found that the depression level of university students between the ages of 18-24 was the highest and those between the ages of 35-44 was the lowest, but there was no significant difference in depression level according to age groups. Although it was found that the depression level of the participants who were not working was higher than the students who were working, the difference between the groups was not statistically significant (p>0.05). As a result of the study, a positive and very low severity relationship was found between the general level of randomness and free will and the level of depression.
