Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, tarih ders kitaplarında değerler eğitiminin eski çağ tarihi üniteleri özelinde nasıl işlendiğinin, eğitimsel hedeflerle nasıl örtüştüğü ve yıllar arasındaki benzerlik ve farklılıkların ortaya konulmasıdır. Bu amaca yönelik olarak araştırmada MEB tarafından 2023 ve 2024 yıllarında yayımlanan ortaöğretim tarih dersi öğretim programları ve tarih ders kitaplarında yer alan eski çağ ünitelerinde ele alınan değerler nitelik ve nicelik bakımından analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada bütünlüğün sağlanması amacıyla her iki ders kitabındaki değerler, 2023 yılı ortaöğretim tarih dersi öğretim programında yer alan on kök değer çerçevesinde incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucuna göre 2023 yılı öğretim programı ve 9. sınıf tarih dersi kitabı eski çağ ünitesinde verilen değerler nicelik ve nitelik bakımından sınırlı olurken, 2024 yılında değerler eğitimi daha da güçlendirilmiş ve hem öğretim programı hem de tarih dersi ders kitabında verilen değerler nicelik ve nitelik bakımından artırıldığı; 2023 yılı öğretim programında değerler“değerlerimiz”başlığı altında on kök değer olarak aktarılırken, 2024 yılı öğretim programında ise değerlerin tek bir bölüm yerine üniteler içinde okuma etkinlikleri olarak aktarıldığı görülmektedir. 2023 yılı ortaöğretim tarih ders kitabı eski çağ ünitesinde 11 adet adalet değerine yer verilirken, vatanseverlik değerine 6, sorumluluk değerine 4, yardımseverlik değerine 3 ve dostluk değerine 1 kez yer verilmiştir. 2024 yılı ortaöğretim tarih ders kitabı eski çağ ünitesinde de benzer olarak en çok adalet değerine yer verilirken, öz denetim değerine 22, vatanseverlik değerine 14, yardımseverlik değerine 13, sevgi değerine 7, sorumluluk değerine 3, dostluk değerine 3 ve sabır değerine 2 kez yer verilmiştir. Değerler genellikle doğrudan ve olumlu yönde aktarılırken, bazı değerlerin ise dolaylı olarak veya bu değerlere aykırı şekilde okuma etkinliklerine yer verildiği saptanmıştır. Her ne kadar değerler doğrudan ve dolaylı olarak verilse de, değerlerin öğrenciye didaktik olarak aktarılmadığı dikkati çekmektedir. Bu hususta kitaplara paralel olarak, öğretim programına uygun olarak on kök değerin öğretmenler tarafından anlaşılır bir şekilde öğretilmesi önem arz etmektedir.

The aim of this research is to reveal how values education is handled in history textbooks in terms of ancient history units, how it overlaps with educational objectives, and the similarities and differences between years. For this purpose, the values addressed in ancient history units in the secondary education history course curriculum and history textbooks published by the Ministry of National Education in 2023 and 2024 were analyzed in terms of quality and quantity. In order to ensure integrity in the research, the values in both textbooks were examined within the framework of ten root values specified in the 2023 secondary education history course curriculum. According to the results of the research, while the values given in the ancient history unit in the 2023 curriculum and the 9th grade history course book were limited in terms of quantity and quality, values education was further strengthened in 2024 and it was seen that the values given in both the curriculum and the history course textbook were increased in terms of quantity and quality. It was determined that values were transferred as ten root values under the title of“our values”in the 2023 curriculum, and in the 2024 curriculum, values were transferred as reading activities within units instead of a single section. In the 2023 secondary education history textbook, while 11 justice values are included in the ancient times unit, the principle of patriotism is included 6 times, the value of responsibility 4 times, the value of charity 3 times and the value of friendship 1 time. Similarly, in the 2024 secondary education history textbook ancient times unit, the value of justice is included the most, the principle of self-control is included 22 times, the principle of patriotism 14 times, the principle of charity 13 times, the value of love 7 times, the value of responsibility 3 times, the value of friendship 3 times and the value of patience 2 times. While values are generally transferred directly and positively, it has been determined that some values are included in reading activities indirectly or in a way that is contrary to these values. Although values are given directly and indirectly, it is noteworthy that the values are not transferred to the student didactically. In this regard, it is important that the ten root values are taught by teachers in an understandable way in accordance with the curriculum, in parallel with the books.
