Özet
Bu çalışma, dijitalleşmenin etkisiyle yaygınlık kazanan gig ekonomisinin Türkiye'deki yapısını analiz etmeyi ve bireylerin bu sisteme ne düzeyde uyum sağladığını değerlendirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Mevcut çalışmada, çalışma ve esnek çalışma kavramları tüm yönleriyle incelendikten sonra, gig ekonomisinin tarihsel, kuramsal ve yapısal temelleri ele alınmıştır. Türkiye'de gig ekonomisinin mevcut görünümü ve işleyişi Armut, Yemeksepeti ve Getir platformları aracılığıyla incelenmiştir. Türkiye özelindeki literatürde, gig ekonomisine ilişkin hem kavramsal hem de ölçümsel boşluklar dikkat çekmiştir. Bu eksikliklerden hareketle, mevcut çalışmada gig ekonomisinin kapsamı netleştirilmiş ve sistemin avantajları ile dezavantajları kapsamlı bir şekilde değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca, fiziksel, duygusal ve sosyal uyum olmak üzere üç boyuttan oluşan, gig ekonomisine özgü bütüncül bir ölçme aracı olan Gig Çalışma Sistemine Uyum Ölçeği geliştirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, ölçeğin güvenirlik ve geçerliliğini istatistiksel olarak doğrulamıştır. Ayrıca, Türkiye'de gig çalışmaya yönelik bireysel ve toplumsal düzeyde yüksek bir uyum potansiyeli bulunduğu, ancak bu uyumun henüz kurumsal düzeyde sağlanamadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

ABSTRACT Doctoral Thesis Doctor of Philosophy(PhD) Gig Economy and Its Applicability to Turkey Sevim DİLEKOĞLU ÇALCA Dokuz Eylül University Graduate School of Social Sciences Department of Economics Economics Program This study aims to analyze the structure of the gig economy, which has gained prevalence with the impact of digitalization in Turkey, and to evaluate the extent to which individuals have adapted to this system. In the present study, following a comprehensive examination of the concepts of work and flexible employment, the historical, theoretical, and structural foundations of the gig economy are addressed. The current state and functioning of the gig economy in Turkey are analyzed through platforms such as Armut, Yemeksepeti, and Getir. In the literature specific to Turkey, both conceptual and methodological gaps related to the gig economy have been identified. Based on these shortcomings, the present study has clarified the scope of the gig economy and provided a comprehensive evaluation of its advantages and disadvantages. Moreover, as an original contribution of the study, a holistic measurement tool specific to the gig economy — the Gig Work Adaptation Scale — has been developed, comprising three dimensions: physical, emotional, and social adaptation. The findings statistically confirm the reliability and validity of the scale. Furthermore, the results reveal a high potential for individual and societal adaptation to gig work in Turkey; however, institutional-level adaptation has not yet been achieved.
